Zoo Med Aquatic Turtle UVB Heat Lighting Kit

It came in unbroken, new and ready to go. So far my turtle has loved it. Plan on ordering more.

Total waste of money, didnt even have mounting brackets. The first ballast went out in about a week, a lot of sparks and smoke. Luckily I was right beside it, and was able to unplug it. The second light followed suite yesterday. To say 60 days after purchase is probably being generous, and I regret not returning it sooner. Wouldn’t purchase again.

I have to be honest I was ify about this when I purchased it (and it did arrive on time so shipping was good and seller was on point) and after an hour after i set it up my turtles was basking and happy I have two baby RES so this is perfect for babys to juveniles. I might upgrade to the deep dome later (when they grow to adult) but this will do untill then. I did have problems with the uvb bulb but it was my fault not the sellers and i contacted Zoomed for replacement and they sent me a new bulb with no problems so overall definitely would recommend this to anyone with young turtles.

The fixture and UVB bulb are fine, but the 50w halogen heat could not effectively heat my basking platform from a distance of 12 inches. With an ambient temperature of 75F, the platform would only reach 82F. If youre interested in this light, you may need to buy a stronger heat bulb.

Everything came exactly as it was described. You may want to get a stand, or some type of fixture to hold up the stand. My yellow bellied slider loves it this is a great kit for beginners, and anyone else who just wants the overall value of the deal. Each of the lamps have their own plug. I had to purchase an extension cord to connect everything to the outlet, and timer. I wish I wouldve known I that I wouldve needed a lamp stand to go with it. You have virtually nothing to keep it up without one. If I could go back I would purchase this again with a lamp stand.

I like this lamp combo. Just be sure that you get it placed the right distance from your pet. Too close, you could scorch them, too far, they dont get the right amount of heat or UVB.

This works perfectly for our needs!
