Zoo Med Aquatic Turtle UVB Heat Lighting Kit

Third time switching from the heat lamp to uv lamp, the uv socket messed up and wouldn’t come back on.. I had to mess with it to get it to work again.. for the price it should be a better quality...

I recieved this product incomplete. it had been used and didnt have any bulbs. recieved in just package no box. I agree with the other reviews of this item. Definitely dont order.

Good duo lamp for turtles

This light came as described and provides the much needed sunlight and heat exposure for turtles. The unit is a bit bulky but understandable as it requires some pretty big bulbs. Each bulb is on a separate switch allowing for more personalized lighting/heating which is great. I would recommend putting the unit on a timer so the turtle gets the recommended exposure while saving on costs when not needed. Also, this unit has a handy hanging apparatus but I just set it on top of the tank screen. The screen stays cool to the touch but the unit does get warm. Definitely recommend this.

We got a Red-Eared Slider (RES) turtle from an acquaintance going away to college for our kids (7 and 9) but it only came with a tank and the turtle. I ended up getting an external filter and this lamp after some research. I knew RES were basking turtles but couldnt get him to bask. I just got this lighting kit and within a few minutes installing and turning on this morning.. our RES got onto his basking platform and pretty much stayed there all day. I guess he missed having a basking area for the past week. Well see how this kit holds up over time, but as a first time aquatic turtle owner.. Im impressed this reasonably priced light kit works as advertised (better and simpler than I expected) Well see how well this kit holds up over time.... but Im impressed thus far.

Its a great light. My little turtle loves it!

I own this product for my own turtle. The warmth is decent, the longevity is ok - I’ve had to replace a bulb in under 6 months, and the bulbs need to be tightened every week or so. The price is pretty steep, but it keeps my turtle healthy and happy. He basks for hours under this. This light is a gift, I was dismayed to find it shipped in its product box alone. For nearly 50 dollars and the delicate bulbs inside I was a bit miffed. The box is beat up pretty bad, holes and dents. Not to mention I now either gift it with shipping labels or tear them off. As for whether it works or was damaged, we shall see. Product itself is worth it, in the past I received it well packaged.
