Zoo Med Aquatic Turtle UVB Heat Lighting Kit

The repti Tuff bulb came cracked, and the lamp is so dirty, almost seems as if it was used. Havent tried it our yet but Im about to do that rn, if theres something wrong Ill come back and say.

Arrived quickly and in good shape. Ever since I put this on my turtle tank, he has been happy as can be. He likes to bask under the heat light. It has two chords, so I put the UVB on the timer switch and I only switch the heat lamp for basking on when I am around on cold winter days.

This light came as described and provides the much needed sunlight and heat exposure for turtles. The unit is a bit bulky but understandable as it requires some pretty big bulbs. Each bulb is on a separate switch allowing for more personalized lighting/heating which is great. I would recommend putting the unit on a timer so the turtle gets the recommended exposure while saving on costs when not needed. Also, this unit has a handy hanging apparatus but I just set it on top of the tank screen. The screen stays cool to the touch but the unit does get warm. Definitely recommend this.

I got it faster than anticipated which really helps during this stay at home order. The packing and items are brand new. Easy to assemble. And since it comes with the correct bulbs I know itll be safe for our turtle and his environment. The price is lower than other websites. My last lamp lasted 5 yrs until I dropped it in the water ooops. We used to have a metal aquarium cover and had no problems with the lamp touching directly. Now we made a basking area with egg crate. The heat is melting it slightly so I ordered a stand just to be safe.

I dont know why its not working for me. Im using the right bulbs, but my UVB bulbs keep getting destroyed. I dont use the heat bulb and the UVB at the same time, or it destroys my UVB. I have to physically remove my UVB bulb when I want to use the heat bulb, so it doesnt destroy my UVB bulb. :(
