Ive read a number of comments about IPS displays having backlighting issues (excessive brightness in the corners, bleedthrough, etc.). I cant see any such deficiency in this display. The brightness seems quite even across and down. The controls (brightness, contrast, etc.) are easy to access and use. The 2560 x 1440 resolution and 27 size makes it abut as close as you can get to a 27 iMac (pre-Retina, of course). I wish it was a glossy display (as I love that about iMacs), but I dont find the slightly matte finish reducing clarity. The extra inputs will be convenient should I decide to add another computer to the mix. There are certainly cheaper displays out there but this one ticks all the boxes and even has a three year warranty.

The picture looks great! Sharp definition for what I need. Can’t complain! Have it hooked up to my Lenovo laptop. Very happy with it!

I performed so much research on these monitors, as I have some at work and wanted some for home office. Very confusing to research these as their model numbering is difficult. First, I really like these monitors, which is why I bought x2 for home (vg2755 1080). The daisy chaining is awesome, which comes to my 1 star rating. The xx55s dont allow you to! Absolute nonsense as VS markets the awesomeness of USB-C allowing you dock the monitors to each other (which these monitors are usb-c). You have to get at least x1 xx56 and then connect a second monitor such as the xx55. But wait, there is more! Not all xx56s let you!!! It looks like the 4k version does not, but the 2k does? and what of the size differences? I am sorry to give such a low score to something I like but that marketing needs to be far more truthful in what they are advertising.

Updated Review: 5/5 stars ViewSonic customer support was great. They admitted there was a problem with firmware updating on MacOS and sent me a replacement monitor and a pre-paid shipping label to send mine back in the same box. The new monitor came with the newest firmware and it works flawlessly. They said that they would fix the bug that breaks monitors during firmware updating, but I still wont risk updating this monitor. Besides the firmware update issue, the only other complaint I have is that the speakers are useless; theyre completely flat and tinny. Other than that, the picture quality and the build quality are excellent. Original Review: 1/5 stars This monitor was great when I first got it. The image is bright and the colors are good. It charges my 15 MacBook Pro and gets 2K output at 60FPS and acts as a USB hub, all over a single (included) USB-C cable. The monitor stand is also very nice, it allows easy height, tilt and rotation adjustment and the setup took less than 5 minutes with no tools. However... I installed the VDisplay software (which lets you control some monitor settings from your computer) and noticed that the monitor had a firmware update available. My monitor was on M001 before the update. After the update, it went to M002, but my monitor could no longer display a proper image. Everything was horribly mangled and covered in rainbow static. Ive tried a laptop and an iPad, Ive tried USB-C and HDMI. Ive reset all monitor settings and tried changing color and display settings. Nothing fixed it. Now my monitor is completely worthless

Works pretty well except the constant red pixel in the middle of the screen. fortunately, it is only one so far.. but still disappointing Edit: I purchased 2 of these monitors and the second monitor now has a dead pixel after 11 months

Nicely packaged, easy to assembly, nice stand with good range of adjustment, includes HDMI & USB-C cables, great color saturation, provides power to my 15 MacBook Pro. Bought a second one a month later.

I was in the market for an affordable 26inch+ USB-C monitor for my new Dell XPS 15 Laptop. I wanted it to have 3 things: 1. USB-C for power and video 2. Greater than 1080p resolution 3. Good tilt and swivel This monitor was the only one I found that fit these criteria and was under $400. The mechanism to attach the monitor to the base is very good, easy to connect and seems very secure. It also requires no tools. The bezel is very thin on the tops and sides, a little bigger at the bottom. I has some usb inputs on the monitor also, which are useful. The only downside is that the XPS I have requires 130v power input, which is very high for a laptop, and so you get a message about slow charger connected when using the usb-c here for video and charging. I dont know that many monitors or cables could pass through that much power anyway? Most laptops require less wattage and should have no issues. Overall a very good looking monitor. Would definitely recommend.

I purchased this as a second monitor and after a couple months I have had zero issues. Build quality is great, as well as the viewing angles for vertical usage. The trend with many companies is to produce these big monitors with small resolutions. This creates a visually disturbing pixel density that I personally find unpleasant (FHD@32=68.84 PPI vs WQHD@24=122.38 PPI). Its nice to see companies still producing normally-sized monitors with larger resolutions. The stability and mobility is great. Large swivel radius, tilt, and height adjustment for finding that sweet-spot. The handle for movement is a very nice addition. The only thing to be wary of is the fact that this monitor DOES NOT support refresh rates over 60hz at 2k resolution. But for some reason the product description has an eye-catching final bullet point of 75 hertz. (I wanted to take a star off for that shady advertising, but it really is a great monitor)

I tried this out with two Macs, a 2018 MacBook Pro with USB C connectivity, and a 2015 MacBook Pro. I connected the ViewSonic using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable, using a Thunderbolt 3-USBC cable, and using an HDMI cable. Whichever cable was used, from whichever Mac, resulted in an identical HD picture and an instantaneous transition to two side-by-side windows that could be used from the Mac. The picture itself is larger than that of the MacBooks built-in video but not quite as bright or as crisp. Still, it makes for perfect watching from a distance - Netflix streaming - or for having an extra stretch of desktop for home-based office work. What I have not been able to make work is the audio. For both Macs, for any cable, I was at best able to get it so that low level volume comes through to the ViewSonics speakers but it is not menu-adjustable nor does it respond to the built-in volume control (though the mute setting works properly). This may be a problem on the MacOS side rather than on the ViewSonics side, The sound can easily be switched back to the Mac where it is controllable in the usual manner. There are a number of adjustments to the video that can be made from the ViewSonics built in menu-driven control structure. Input control to get where you need is reasonably intuitive. The angle and height of the monitor on the detachable stand is easily adjusted, and the unit can be used in portrait mode if desired (and thats really where this shines, since that makes review of long pdf files or Word documents a breeze). This is more of an expansion of the MacBook Pros built-in video for those who need more desktop space, rather than as a separate screen for watching movies or other streaming material. From that perspective, connectivity and operating functionality is all excellent. Now if I could get the audio to play nicely with my MBPs, Id be happier with alternative applications.

This ViewSonic VG2455 24 Inch IPS 1080p Monitor provides gorgeous color and even better, it can swivel to portrait mode. This is a 24 model, which is a modest size by todays standards but its perfect for a small workspace or as a second monitor. It has a solid list of features including an IPS display, integrated speakers, swivel and tilt functions as well as easy height adjustment, an ultra thin bezel on three sides, USB-C, HDMI, display port and VGA connection ports, and five preset view modes. I have had a number of Viewsonic monitors over the years and have always favored them because of the brilliant color and this one is no exception. I am using this with a Windows system so have had no issues with the sound. The speakers are quite decent. Not as good as an expensive, secondary speaker but solidly good and they dont take up precious desktop space as an added sound system would. What I really love is the ability to swivel the display to portrait mode. In portrait mode, you can tuck this monitor into a very small space and its superb for text based work/layout or reading. I also love the 40 degree tilt because I use a standing desk and its a simple matter to just tilt it to the best angle for me when I am standing. The response time is a bit slow for some gaming but it isnt sold as a gaming monitor. You can certainly find a less expensive, 24 monitor but the features and gorgeous display make it worth the extra money, IMO. I have a Viewsonic display that is over 10 years old and still working perfectly so I am hoping this one will be just as durable.

Designed for the modern day office, The ViewSonic VG2455-2K monitor delivers an efficient end-to-end enterprise experience. Usb 3. 1 Type-C connectivity provides charging power, video, and audio over a single connector for convenience and reduced Cable clutter. Super clear IPS panel technology delivers wide-angle viewing and incredibly vivid colors, while 3-sided thin bezel design provides a seamless viewing experience for multi-monitor setups. For enhanced productivity, An advanced ergonomic design offers a wide range of customizable adjustments for maximum comfort including pivot, swivel, Height adjustment, and tilt. With the ability to tilt an impressive 40-degrees, this 24” monitor is ideal for users who prefer to work while standing up, as well as for those who like to use their screen for group discussions. Along with USB 3. 1 Type-C, additional connectivity options include HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB 3. 0. This monitor is also shipped in biodegradable packaging, along with an easy-to-install quick release stand that makes for simple out-of-the box setup. The quick release stand also includes an integrated client mount and cable management Features.
