I purchased this as a second monitor and after a couple months I have had zero issues. Build quality is great, as well as the viewing angles for vertical usage. The trend with many companies is to produce these big monitors with small resolutions. This creates a visually disturbing pixel density that I personally find unpleasant (FHD@32=68.84 PPI vs WQHD@24=122.38 PPI). Its nice to see companies still producing normally-sized monitors with larger resolutions. The stability and mobility is great. Large swivel radius, tilt, and height adjustment for finding that sweet-spot. The handle for movement is a very nice addition. The only thing to be wary of is the fact that this monitor DOES NOT support refresh rates over 60hz at 2k resolution. But for some reason the product description has an eye-catching final bullet point of 75 hertz. (I wanted to take a star off for that shady advertising, but it really is a great monitor)

I am a developer so I write code, surf the web, deal with spreadsheets and text all day long with occasional Photoshop work. Im not a gamer at all so no comment on how this monitor performs for gaming. Im running Debian on an older Lenovo laptop (T430s) using a Display Port from the monitor to the Mini Display Port on the laptop. Let me say how happy I am with my purchase. This is a solid monitor with a thin bezel, beautiful picture, beautiful design all combined in a 24 package. The bezel and the stand are premium in terms of texture, design and durability. I prefer monitor stands that are square and non-glossy compared to those that are round and glossy. I know I know, to me, design and looks matter too. This monitor also has actual buttons. The buttons are firm in place and dont wiggle around. It also has a Text-mode setting that helps reading text easier. I appreciate the fact that ViewSonics logo on the front of the screen is black and not chrome or white so it doesnt jump at you. I thought that was a smart design choice by ViewSonic. The speakers on this monitor are above average. I dont have much expectation of built-in monitor speakers in general. I buy a monitor for its picture quality and resolution capabilities, first and foremost. Regardless, I dont have problems watching videos or listening to music. I used to have a 27 BenQ with 2560x1440p resolution. That monitor was amazing but it was too big for my desk and the text was a bit fuzzy. Im now running the same resolution on a 24 monitor with the same screen real estate and the text looks amazingly sharp. Note: A 27 1080p monitor does not necessarily give you more screen real estate over a 24 1080p. Its not the physical size of the monitor but rather the resolution of the monitor that will allow you to fit more windows on your screen. It took me 3 monitors to figure this out. Also note that the higher the resolution, the smaller the text. Basically sit back at an arms length from your monitor screen and find the resolution that youre comfortable with. Can you read text or surf the web without any eye strain? Then determine which monitor can produce that resolution at its best. Of course, other factors are involved here too such as your graphics card that you have to consider. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor for the price. Hope this helps people out there.

To start, let me reiterate whats already been shared. This monitor will only work with a Mac laptop with a USB-C 3.1 connector. I originally tried using my USB-C charging cable that I use to power my laptop and that DOES NOT WORK. I went to the Apple Store to buy a Belkin USB-C 3.1 cable. I told the Apple Store clerk I needed this cable for use with a Monitor and they tried convince me I would need a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C cable instead. I ended up buying both and they both work, but I will be returning the Thunderbolt cable because it was $10 more expensive (And .2 meters shorter ). I should gone with my gut, now I have another errand to run. Just get the Belkin USB-C 3.1 and the monitor is plug and play! I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of this monitor, after adjusting the Color/Brightness/Contrast Ive got it matching my Mac laptop Retina display very nicely. I will say, the brightness on the laptop can go maaaybe a hair brighter than the monitor, but its barely noticeable. Also the sharpness on the monitor looks great, but its not quite as clear as the laptop. That means this probably isnt the best monitor for high end detailed Video/Graphic design work, but for everything else this monitor is excellent. The aspect ratio on the monitor is a little wider than the laptop so you have to deal with a tiny sliver of letterboxing on the laptop. (You can also opt for vertical letterboxing on the monitor, but this doesnt look as good). Other great features: The USB-C 3.1 cable will charge your laptop while also presenting the display. There are an additional 3 standard USB ports. Ive tested out the usb connections and the devices Ive tested have worked perfectly with my laptop. This is a great bonus. Also, the stand was so easy to set up. The monitor snaps into place and the base screws into the neck with a single flat head screw (But it has a twist handle so you dont even need a screw driver. The stand is heigh adjustable and also rotates about its vertical axis and tilts up and down. The best part is it also rotates about its depth axis so you can work on projects in Portrait rather than landscape orientation. Perfect for writing. The speakers on this thing are awful, but I cant imagine anyone would buy a monitor for audio quality. Grab a pair of external speakers and youll be set. Overall, this a great deal for a very good 1440p monitor with some useful additional features. I recommend it for use with a mac laptop for anything other than high end video/graphic work. For everyday use, its excellent.

I was in the market for an affordable 26inch+ USB-C monitor for my new Dell XPS 15 Laptop. I wanted it to have 3 things: 1. USB-C for power and video 2. Greater than 1080p resolution 3. Good tilt and swivel This monitor was the only one I found that fit these criteria and was under $400. The mechanism to attach the monitor to the base is very good, easy to connect and seems very secure. It also requires no tools. The bezel is very thin on the tops and sides, a little bigger at the bottom. I has some usb inputs on the monitor also, which are useful. The only downside is that the XPS I have requires 130v power input, which is very high for a laptop, and so you get a message about slow charger connected when using the usb-c here for video and charging. I dont know that many monitors or cables could pass through that much power anyway? Most laptops require less wattage and should have no issues. Overall a very good looking monitor. Would definitely recommend.

I like this monitor. The picture is very good and the mounting stand makes positioning the screen easy.

The monitor was plug & play working immediately. An adjustable tilt on the monitor is easy to use. I adjust the monitor frequently between video streaming and regular alone computer use. Worked well with MacPro charging computer through the monitor and syncs great between 3 screens. Some other monitors do not play well with Apple products.

The monitor is ok, nothing fancy. I purchased it because it was supposed to support pass-through charging for my MacBook Pro so I could cut down on the cords on my desk, after reading some of the other reviews and tech questions it sounded like the monitor would but that appears not to be the case. I even purchased a 3.1 USB-C cord but no luck. I dont think this thing puts out enough power sadly.

Update: both monitors I purchased have started making quiet whistling noises, sounds similar to the noise made by an old hard drive when its seeking lots of data. This monitor has a super annoying feature where it changes the backlight brightness based on how much white is onscreen. This makes it impossible to set your brightness to a comfortable level. If you use dark mode apps like I do, you adjust your brightness so theyre readable. BUT, then if you open a light mode window, all of a sudden the monitor ramps up the brightness and its blindingly bright. Very stupid feature, very frustrating, defeats the whole point of setting the brightness. After a lot of digging through menus, I finally found a way to turn off the auto brightness. Its under Setup Menu -> ECO Mode. On a different topic, my macbook pro refuses to remember that this monitor is rotated, but that could be apples fault. Also, this monitor has a game mode which presumably runs faster, but it makes all the colors look washed out and ugly.
