    Greater than one week

I am not a groomer - I take my little dogs to the groomer every 8 weeks - but inbetween the shih-tzuh especially gets eye gook that I clean , then trim the long hair she is especially bothered by hair in her eyes or long bangs and will snap at the air as if she thinks she is seeing something. ( No one said she was super smart but she makes up for it in soul and cuteness. ( She also is my fiercest watch dog! - so she needs to see.) These work great , small light and with rounded tips I am not so afraid of doing any harm. She is very well behaved for trimming so makes it easier. I have another terrier dog that is not well behaved when trimming and he also does okay with these and I especially appreciate the rounded tips with him. The finger holes are not huge so if you have large fingers may be bothersome - but otherwise sharp, last forever ( my last pair I had for four years and they were still sharp I just lost them)

Good for around my dogs eyes. Great size, easy to use and nice round edges for safety

Through a series of events, Kitty has manufactured some truly impressive (and quite painful for him) mats in his fur. These scissors are ideal for helping him through this. The rounded nose is a good safety measure, but most importantly they close evenly and completely with no play in the blades that can cause painful pulling and twisting of the fur as you go. Were doing a section each day (depending on Kittys patience level) and it would be much harder without such a good tool for the delicate work.

I use these to cut the fur between my dogs paws on the underside. They are very sharp and accurate. I love them.

The scissors are supposed to be SERRATED so that the fur stays between the blades. This pair is serrated on the inner edge, much finer than the photo shows on Amazon. The fur pulls out of the blades in spite of the miniscule serration: both the fine fur neinside the ear, and the thick fur of the paws. I am keeping the scissors anyway because of the blunt tip, and the covered thumb and finger holes. It is comfortable and strong. It cuts much more fur at one time than my cuticle scissors. The tip cant hurt the dog. Another negative is that it makes a louder sound than my cuticle scissors when cutting. My dogs pull away quickly and wont let me use it but once. So I come back again and again. Oh well. Ill just continue trying and eventually they may get used to it. All scissors make noise, not just this one. I cant use electric ear and paw trimmers on them either. Treats dont help. update 8.3.10 The supplier, Scaredy Cut, sent another pair of scissors after having read the above review. He was concerned that the first pair was defective. That was really responsive. He mentioned in a letter that the serrated edge makes the scissors noisier. I am using the scissors to trim the belly fur of my Goldens. They get hot spots easily. By trimming the fur close to the skin, they scratch less. This pair of small scissors is better for this job than my regular scissors. Much sharper, and smaller. Neither dog pulls away. I cant use an electric trimmer because of the noise. Trimming the fur from under the paws and between the toes is easy with this scissors. As for ear fur trimming, I am trying to desensitize my Goldens by opening and closing the scissors near their ears, but without cutting anything. I would increase the rate to 4 stars, but I cant find a way to do that!

This company stands behinds its guarantee. Excellent products for trimming your dogs fur. I have a Goldendoodle and a Golden Retriever and these scissors and the Silent grooming kit are awesome!

The original review (which Ive left intact below) was read by the seller and immediate action was taken. A new set of scissors were sent to me, along with a gift for my trouble. The new set works well so it seems that I got a defective pair initially. The customer service from this company is beyond stellar and I would be pleased to make purchases from them in the future. The non-cutting tips of these scissors are hard to get used to. While a regular scissor will cut all the hair in its path, these dont cut the hair at the end (obviously) so the user needs to open the scissors before moving them. This is not the usual way I scissor so it is hard to remember to do this.

These scissors are absolutely wonderful. Best thing since sliced bread. I used them for the first time today on my two white poodles whose eye tears stain the white fur. I had been trying to cut around the eye area with my cuticle scissors but it scared me because of the sharp tip and I was afraid to get near the eye. I went on Amazon and saw all of the positive reviews and ordered mine and I just love them. I can get down close to the skin and not worry about poking the eye because of the rounded ending. Worth every cent. Next time I place an order with Amazon Im going to order another pair so I dont have to pay shipping charges. Want to have a spare on hand if I should misplace these or when they need sharpening. I also heard from Scaredy Cut for no reason because I gave a five star review. What nice people....the kind I like to deal with.

Its lightweight and easy to use. It cuts so easy and because its small it doesnt bother her. I used to have all kinds of problems with trying trim my toy poodle now its much easier. She doesnt even know Im doing it most of the time.
