Greater than one weekI regret getting the TI-Nspire CX II CAS for my high schooler because his Algebra II teacher uses the TI-84 in class to demonstrate how to do problems. He can’t follow along on his calculator as it is set up differently, so has to borrow one in class. Teacher suggested he may want the TI-84 so he can practice with it at home.. She mentioned the Nspire can’t be used in the SATs. The TI product page indicates it can’t be used in the ACT exams.

> 3 dayThis calculator has been amazing so far, a great resource while I pursue a degree in electrical engineering. That said, the software license is only for one year. Nowhere in the description is this mentioned. It almost seems as though they want you to believe it is perpetual, it is not and this does seem somewhat shady.

> 3 dayI bought this for quite a lot of money, and when I tried it out, it had a lot of advantages and features. It has a notepad for writing whatever you want (you can even put math on the notes), spreadsheet, graph, statistics, and geometry. Theres even DataQuest, which I dont have the resources to use it, but if I come to a college, and I have a math or science class that uses it, then Ill be more happy to try it out. I can even play games (and yes, you can use an emulator to play NES, SNES, GBA, etc., but you need to install an app called Ndless for the TI n-spire CX II CAS (or whatever n-spire you use)). The battery lasts a long time without plugging it in. The good news, is that the calculator comes with a tutorial, on how to use the calculator, called Getting Started, (and also Getting Started Python) in the Browse option on the main menu, in a folder called Examples. I suggest trying it out. It even comes with something called scratchpad, where you dont need to create a document in order to perform quick calculations and graphs; you can just do it directly on the scratchpad with the press of a button. Great calculator, I recommend it to a college student, and/or whoever wants some high-tech for calculating stuff!

Greater than one weekSo listen to video to get tips n shortcuts. Slight learning curve when using for exams, just make sure it’s deg or rad n the right sig figs! Also, your 2 fingers can enlarge the graphs! Lol. Currently, using for AP chem n AP calc.

> 3 dayIt is a great calculator and was a good improvement over my ti-84 that I had for a few years. If you have previously used calculators with graphing functionality and are they type of person who likes to pick through the settings It is very easy to get used to. Depending on if I remember to turn it off when I am done I can get it to last around 2 weeks on a single charge and despite the long lasting battery processing speed on this calculator is much better then ones I have previously used. I am currently an engineering student and having a good calculator can make a huge difference in ones studies.

Greater than one weekYou can use this on the SAT! It’s so nice, and it works really well! It can help you solve so many problems way easier, and overall it’s such a unique and cool calculator to just have! The touch pad blows peoples minds!

Greater than one weekThis thing is awesome! It is a bargain to boot. Totally cool! I do wish the keyboard was a QWERTY keyboard instead of the A-Z keyboard that it has. So one thing needs improvement. The rest is great. I love being able to tinker in Python on it.

> 3 dayCant ever go wrong with a TI-Nspire. Ive used the normal TI-Nspire CX at school during all my 4 years in high school, so Ive become fairly comfortable with operating it. But, I felt it was time for an upgrade, so I chose this, and Ive got to say, best investment ever. As an engineering college student, this calculator really helps save time. With its CAS, solving integrals and taking complicated derivatives couldnt have been any easier. The buttons (arguably), in my opinion, feel very nice to click and make a satisfying clicking sound, which I like (compared to the normal CX). It has functions from solving systems, to analyzing statistical data, and you can even program your own functions using TI-Basic. All in all, this is definitely a must-buy for any college student taking high level engineering classes. One thing to note is that this (and many other CAS calculators), are not allowed on AP math exams. Also, as Im sure youve heard. graphing calculators are not allowed in lower college math classes either (ex: Cal 1, Cal 2, or even Cal 3). It is, however, allowed on the SAT and upper-level engineering/science courses in college, at least in my experience.
