SENNHEISER HD 660 S - HiRes Audiophile Open Back Headphone

This is a big sound upgrade over the Sennheiser HD650 model. The drawbacks are these headphones are tight out of box. I don’t need nine feet of cord. There should be a shorter 3.5mm cord supplied.

These headphones changed the way I listen to music. They are extraordinary.

I really was excited to get these headphones and wanted to love them but they have a muffled flat sound. My Grado SR60s have a fuller sound and cost about a fourth of what these cost. I am most likely going to send these back.

The headphones have natural and pure sound, typical signature of Sennheiseir with strong bass, detailed mids and sweet highs. This should be used with a headphone amp. However At $500 there are several options to compare, these are Like New at $350, so, ...

Im actually pretty deaf, but theres a clear wow factor when you put these on. My first set of open-sided earphones, and it sounds way bigger and I hear way more detail. Also love the way it sits on my head. Sennheiser over did it a bit on the packaging though - I dont need a super fancy, jewelry box-style carry case - although it definitely says luxury headset.

Best headset Ive ever used, and I would highly recommend wired over wireless... you cant compete with wired headsets.. learned that mistake buying the GSP670 headset which would have heaps of distortion when used along with a wireless mouse and keyboard... I didnt know they are all trying to use the same wireless frequency resulting in a lot of distortion... so for that reason I basically had to use that headset plugged in to avoid the fuzzy feedback... dont make the mistake I did, and spend a little more for unmatched sound quality. I use these for gaming and video editing and they are amazing. Love these Sennheiser 660s headphones. FYI - they are smaller than you might think, and with open back, your ears never get too warm. Thankfully this doesnt compromise the noise cancelling.

I wouldnt have enough words in any language to say how much I love these headphones and I have owned a LOT of headphones from ALL price points. If you want the best audio experience of your life, look no further friend.

Great headphones for the audiophile that wants quality entry-level, open-back headphones without breaking the bank entirely. They also make decent gaming/conference headphones due to the open back headphones since they allow you to hear yourself due to the open-back design.
