27-10-2024This is a great SSD drive for back ups replacing using DVDs for backups. I did not use the backup software -- just wrote my own data.

> 3 dayI am very happy with this SSD. At 1TB it has plenty of storage space, it is small and easy to carry around, it is fast, and unlike as noted in reviews of a predecessor version, this version doesnt seem to get real hot...yes, it gets warm, but not hot.

> 3 dayIf you want speed and small size, this is a great SSD drive. If you need to travel with it, a good soft case would be worthwhile.

> 3 dayI have a couple of these in different sizes. They both perform as advertised around 900-950mbps (obviously USB overhead means nothing will ever pull 10gbps) when connected to a device with proper USB 10gbps ports and drivers; they deliver full speed on a 2016 MacBook Pro, but on my PC despite having a 10gbps advertised USB port with the manufacturers latest VIA USB drivers installed, it only delivers 3gbps on that port, despite working at 5gbps on my Intel 5gbps ports--but thats a PC problem not a problem with this drive, since it delivers full speed on a MacBook.

> 3 dayI just wanted more space for games and it works pretty well for a ssd. It gets kinda hot when moving things so that’s something to think about

> 3 dayMy iMac wasnt all that old, but painfully slow. I looked into replacing the HDD with an internal SSD, lots of steps. A little more research and it turns out my iMac runs nicely off this external SSD with plenty of storage. It seems very portable, but it is running my desktop, so it doesnt travel. I also like the bold color.
