Greater than one weekI bought this for my son as a Christmas gift. He need to transfer 5000+ songs and other game files from his really old PC to secure storage. He plugged in the unit to his old laptop and very simply dragged/dropped all his files to the external storage unit. I bought the 1TB one and it will last a long time. Plenty of storage left on it. It also comes with a separate case you can buy but I did not buy it.

> 3 dayIt is just as advertised, given, it does slow its speeds sometimes to avoid overheating, but for general use and lightweight gaming it works perfectly. Very pleased with the overall performance and dimensions.

> 3 dayI had contacted Samsung SSD support about a failed drive. They had me return it to them for service. They said it couldnt be repaired and would issue me a refund. I have been trying to get this refund since July 2022. The drive was purchased on Sept. 8th, 2020. It failed with some goo leaking from the label end of drive. Most likely a failed tantalum capacitor. This caused the drive to disconnect after trying to tranfer a file. I have spent many hours patiently on the phone: listening to music while on hold for extended periods of time(months). I believe their goal was to have me hangup. I didnt do that for months. Im done with Samsung.

> 3 dayMy 2019 iMac has a HDD that has been severely bogged down: taking a long time to boot up, 5-10min (sometimes more) to startup Apple Music, News, Zoom and other apps. It was turning into a brick. It got even slower once the Big Sur OS was installed. I needed to changed to working off an SSD. I saw tutorials on how to remove and replace the HDD with an SSD, but it looked way too risky in damaging the screen and the internal components of the iMac. So, I decided to get an External SSD. I decided to get the T7. 500GB seems enough to hold me over for a few years.
