I have no idea how this has so many good reviews. They must have changed the quality recently or something because mine overheated and crashed so quickly I was shocked

After I beefed my last thumb drive by leaving it in a pocket in the wash, I decided to replace it with something a little harder to forget. Its smaller and lighter than my phone, so I *could* carry it in my picket like my old-school iPad Mini if I wanted. But with the non-retractable cords, that would be annoying. Its robust and pretty fast, though Ive never tested Its read/write speed on something like a game, so I wont speak to that. So far, for what its designed for, it fits the bill perfectly, and lives comfortably in my backpack for now.

The speed is critical for me when backing up data in the field. These drives have cut down my transfer times massively. Will be adding more to the kit.

I’m using this as a boot drive for an older 27” iMac. I’ve done a similar thing with the older T5 but this was actually cheaper. It does the job well.

had the drive for 9 months and it is leaking (dried around the edges) from the case edges white stuff that resemble wax

Love it , really fast and compact

Ive successfully installed Big Sur 11.2.3 on this external ssd and used it as a boot drive for my new M1 Mac Mini. Works really well, doesnt get hot. Oddly, to create the boot drive I had to connect via the USB A-C adapter in a regular USB port. Once the drive was formatted and OS installed and I booted from it once, I was then able to simply move it to my USB-C port and continue to use as a boot drive. I could not install Big Sur when using the USB-C connection directly.

Really impressed with this drive.. Run all my gaming off of it with no lag and acts just like its an internal drive.
