> 3 daythough it says 100 watt, a light bulb gives off way more heat. Maybe I got a bum one, but it does not put out much heat at all. I am going to buy one locally and compare. If there is a difference, I may update this review with the new information.

Greater than one weekThis worked well for me for my chicks this spring - didnt keep them awake all night. No visual way to know if it is working.

Greater than one weekWorks great, I put two of them in the hen house for the winter to help the chickens in the cold Midwest winters. Been using for two or three years and they still keep working

> 3 dayI bought this for baby chicks, as those 300 watt bulbs they sell are too powerful, and dont last very long. Plus, it doesnt give off light, so they sleep better. It works just like it should. It gives off heat, but wont burn the birds if they touch it. Its also less fragile than bulbs. All in all, it does what you buy it for, with no unsettling surprises.

> 3 dayI like ceramic heat the best, that being said I feel like I have gone though these bulbs A LOT. Great heat but just doesnt last long. I have to say that it will last you longer then any others.

Greater than one weekI use this heater at night to keep my Sulcata Tortoises warm! I have a large tank and this keeps the night time temps between 70 & 80 degrees depending on the temperature of the room. This is my 2nd one. First one broke b/c I dropped it! My fault. The 1st one lasted over 2yrs! Great deal!
