I have a ton of Zoo Med products, and I have no idea how they could sell this crap product. My All Living Things CHE burnt out, so I bought one of these as an emergency for my heggie. First off, the smell was horrible for a solid 24 hours. Very strong, and I was worried for my heggies health. Second, it puts out very little heat. From 18in away and hooked up to a thermostat, this will stay on 100% with the house at 68 and the thermostat set to 74. It never reaches 74 and will only get up to 72. My previous CHE from All Living Things (same wattage) would cycle on and off with the thermostat just fine. It never ran at 100% duty cycle like this one does.

Works great in the chicken house without adding light.

Works well in dog house even below zero. Not really hot but house is well insulated so its OK - not burn hazard like heat lamp was

Strong construction bulb to keep our nocturnal sugar gliders warm and cozy and it is not just for reptiles as the name implies. Standard sized screw-in type light bulb base screwed quickly and effortlessly into the reflector dome that sits atop the cage and heated up within a minute or so. It is on 24/7 so the 100 watt unit was adequate even though there are much higher wattage units for larger tanks and cages. My cage houses two sugar gliders and is 18 wide x 18 deep x 24 high.

Well, it works, just dont put this up against your terrarium or the glass will break, i didnt realize I had bought the 100 watt not the 60 watt, lesson learned! Always read amazon info on product. lol

This is my second ceramic heat emitter. The first one lasted 1 1/2 winters. I use it in the winter to keep my two guinea pigs warm at night when I turn the house heat down. Their cage is 5 x 4....a C&C cage. I have the light dome hanging at one end of their cage, and at night I cover that third of the cage with a couple of bath towels...with the heat emitter hanging down under the towels. And, the piggies love their wam, cozy bedroom. In the morning the towels come off and the heat emitter gets turned off....and the guinea pigs have their spacious cage to run around and play in.

We have 2 beardies and Ive bought different bulbs. This one is by far the best. You can leave it turned on 24/7 day and night and the heat that comes off it never fluctuates which is what you want in a bearded dragon environment. Ive had mine for a year now and I hear they can last easily for 3-5 years. Amazon has amazing prices on these compared to your standard pet store. NOTE: these DO NOT give off any light, only heat.

I put the 100 Watt into a Zoo med fixture with a maximum of 100 watts and as soon as I turned it on it immediately started to smoke, disappointed because I cant even use it without having to worry about risk of it causing fire, I usually trust zoo products but this has h changed my opinion.
