Greater than one weekI had the optoma hd20. This version is just so much better. True you can see the image even if there is light in the room. Very usable during the day. You do not need blackout blinds at all. I tried the hdrz 39 version, which uses a lazer. But this bulb based version produces a better image to me when using the same contrast and brightness levels. So i am happy with my purchase indeed. I wish the zoom were stronger because my room is quite large and rather have the projector at the edge of the ceiling. It would look better. Speakers are not good but i used a sound bar. Noize level and heat are much better compared to what i had. Not really noticeable when mounted on the ceiling.

> 3 dayThis projector is a MAJOR upgrade from the Optoma GT1080 I had before. Its brighter, clearer, and even quieter. Also, when switching scenes between light to dark, and vise versa are spectacular. Its not grainy, its not too dark, it doesnt lose color. When my last projector died, I went and got a 65 UHD curved Samsung TV. The price was $800, the same as this. The TV was beautiful, but Ill take this projector any day of the week. I promptly returned the TV upon arrival of the projector. If youre even thinking you might want it, just go for it. You will absolutely not be disappointed.

> 3 dayLoved the projector when I first got it, very bright and clear. After only 5 months the projector stopped working. It will turn on and work for about 5 minutes and then shut off completely. Reached out to customer service and they told me to follow the warranty process where you send the product back to them and have to cover the shipping costs with no ETA on when theyll send it back. VERY disappointed.

> 3 dayI don’t know why this projector gets lots of good reviews but I really don’t like because of its picture quality. It was super grainy with bad color. It almost felt like I was watching a bigger version of a low quality video. And the machine is heavy and extremely hot when projecting. I don’t think it’s anything that I expected. They shipped me with one without lens cap so I had to buy a cap myself. Be careful if you have a high expectation on picture quality. This is no way what you want.

> 3 dayDont buy this. Firstly I bought this projector on 1/16/21 for $694.48 so it has experienced about a 50% price increase while slowly moving towards being outdated. Aside from the price this thing is just a pain. Its very dull, loud, cant run for long, will heat an entire room, but most importantly it will fail for one reason or another and when it does there is only one service center in the country which is in CA.

Greater than one weekI upgraded from an older, albeit top of the line (multiple thousands of dollars) projector to this one, and I have to say its very impressive at this price point. The picture quality is amazing and is compatible with the new PS5 games. Set up and control is simple. A small negative is screen adjustment is a little basic, not a huge issue, but I have a theatre room that has a painted outlined/bordered wall for a screen so I can get it to fit perfectly. I would love a response from the company because this troubling issue is happening when I power on sometimes and it wont connect to the input, sometimes it will load and skip, other times stay steady with load/searching text; I have to navigate thru other input options to get it to sync up and finally load the PS5 input. Would recommend tho after trying a few other projectors around this price point.

> 3 dayOk first things first, I get my delivery, open the box after a few days, looks like a new machine, but I dont have a lens cover, I thought that was a standard piece of the projector to cover the lens when not in use. Now lets get to the projector. The Hd39HDR Optima Projector. Like I said Im a new projector owner, I have always dreamed of having a setup like this at home since this is what I really like doing. Right now Im watching the Nets vs. the Hawks on my 92 inch Elite screen. But lets get back to taking it out of the box and sitting it on a table in my basement turning it on and being amazed by the picture it showed on my wall (white walls). The picture is sharp and bright. I have a basement that has a backyard patio door, lots of light in here, but yet I can still watch during daytime hours, so I guess that means it has bright picture, the picture was sharp on the wall before I put the screen up. Havent had a chance to mount it yet so its still sitting on the table and with the screen the picture is even better. But this machine is not 4k, but it does give you a nice HDR picture. So far I really like this projector. Ill let you know how it goes with mounting it to the ceiling. But I still have to ask where is my lens cap?

> 3 dayNice picture and brightness... pictures are projecting 135 inch screen on a regular painted wall. Still need to put screen up, but it looks pretty good as is. I expect the quality to improve with screen.

14-11-2024Bought this projector lamp went out a month later. Had the projector replaced a year later projector will not stay on after about a minute. Tech support tell you to send the projector back for repair at your expense shipping and all. This is poorly made waste of money. Had a BenQ for years never had this problem, projector still works with the first lamp.
