I purchased from another company, the laser version optoma hz39hdr. The good, its very bright and very quiet. The bad its so bright it hurts your eyes and has convergence issues like crazy. It was sharp in the middle and then Fuzzy on the outside. Colors are horrible. Spent days trying to make adjustments. If you are a gamer optoma does make some nice units and would recommend the bulb version of these units for that use. Just know you will go thru a bulb every 1-3 years. I personally found I watched more movies and went with the Epson 3800. Not as good for games but color and contrast are incredible for movies. In short every brand will have its pro and cons just look at what you will use it for and do your research.

Ok first things first, I get my delivery, open the box after a few days, looks like a new machine, but I dont have a lens cover, I thought that was a standard piece of the projector to cover the lens when not in use. Now lets get to the projector. The Hd39HDR Optima Projector. Like I said Im a new projector owner, I have always dreamed of having a setup like this at home since this is what I really like doing. Right now Im watching the Nets vs. the Hawks on my 92 inch Elite screen. But lets get back to taking it out of the box and sitting it on a table in my basement turning it on and being amazed by the picture it showed on my wall (white walls). The picture is sharp and bright. I have a basement that has a backyard patio door, lots of light in here, but yet I can still watch during daytime hours, so I guess that means it has bright picture, the picture was sharp on the wall before I put the screen up. Havent had a chance to mount it yet so its still sitting on the table and with the screen the picture is even better. But this machine is not 4k, but it does give you a nice HDR picture. So far I really like this projector. Ill let you know how it goes with mounting it to the ceiling. But I still have to ask where is my lens cap?

Box did not include a manual so I had to download it from the web. Sound from the speaker is of no use... so not recommended for outdoor use. Good image quality. Bit finicky in HDMI detection.Excellent picture quality. Did not like the GUI on it though. Lamp gives out a lot of heat. I need a shorter throw for my setup hence returned to Amazon. Very smooth return and refund. Thanks to Amazon for excellent customer support.

For the price it is the best one, 4k HDR input . It does take a lot of calibration to have best picture. Only annoying thing . Is auto color mode does not work. When in HDR you need to manually change colors space to 16-235. 0-255 is for non HDR content . Nice throw for smaller rooms . Around 9 feet for 120” screen

Although I loved the quality, I couldnt take the rainbow effect, it was making me nauseous. Great and very quiet projector for those who dont have the DLP issue. Excellent for daytime viewing. You might need a soundbar.

Replaced an older Optoma projector with this one. Picture brightness and clarity are exceptional!

Brightness seems good but the colors are weird and not vibrant.

I have had this projector slightly over a year. At first, it was great, no issues. Then slowly a few things started to pop up. Once in a while, all of the images have a green hue. I reset and it is fine. However, the biggest issue is that it is NOT as bright as they say and it seems to be getting worse. I probably average an hour of use a day, so at under 500 hours, I should not notice a huge drop. It has become so hard to see images that I literally need all lights turned off if I am going to try and watch something. I also notice several flickering if an image is panning around. That said, it is the lack of brightness that is driving me nuts. I wrote to optoma and they told me I would have to pay to fix it. Why would I spend more money on a 1 year old overpriced unit? Ill be avoiding Optoma in the future.

It looks awesome in the dark but I spent the extra money to get something I can use during the day. Even in full shade in my carport and with the projector close to the wall (small projection) its barely visible. In the summer, I cant watch anything outside until after 9pm.
