Perfect right out the box! Just what I needed to hook up all the Ethernet devices including my work phone which is internet based. I had a 5 port but needed more ports and this one has 8 so I have 2 ports free to something else later.

I can hook multiple computers to it!

I was recommended this switch by a friend even though I tend to stay away from Netgear products. Well, my gut was correct despite deciding to buy this. It doesnt hit gigabit speeds at all. I am able to hit 400mbps from my router, but not when connected to this switch. Its capped at 100mbps. I could not be more unhappy with my purchase.
