> 3 dayAfter a month of usage it is a great switch and super easy to setup. Literally works as soon as you plug it in and easy to configure custom setup/connect to it on the network.

03-11-2024Buying and installing/using a product without issue is one of the best experiences in life. Such is the case with this switch and several other Netgear switches and other Netgear products over the years. Never a need to call Customer Support or Tech Support! Netgear products just work as described.

> 3 dayI was between this and the TP-Link 8-port, but the reason I settled on Netgear is their spec sheet indicated 16gbps internal switching capacity! TP-Link was unknown or a maybe, and I tried looking for the specs.

> 3 dayThis is a soldreliable 8-port gigabit switch. Just plug in power and plug in your ethernet cables and it just works. Metal casing is more rugged than plastic, and lights and RJ45 sockets can all be turned not to face you so you can avoid the endless flashing green led lights flickering.

> 3 dayIf you can run cat6 cables, then this is the way to go. Much faster than WiFi, more reliable, and more secure assuming you turn off WiFi on your router and all end points. I have two of these now, one upstairs and one downstairs with cables running to the Cable Modem.

> 3 dayIt seemed like the best deal out there. 16 Gig ports for a great price. I own two of these, bought them together. Wish I could send them back, and Netgear just wont have anything to do with them. Within a couple months, they were locking up, dropping connections. I personally think its because these are fanless, and seem to overheat very quickly. I am amazed that Netgear thinks that a switch should be unplugged when not in use... a network switch is always in use.
