> 24 hourBeautiful. Great sound. Comfortable. Isolate sound well. Have had these for over a year and use them for watching movies at night. Bought Dakoni pads which are more comfortable than the stock ones. Perfect for movies since these are detailed with lots of substance in the base. Also great all-rounders if you can equalize them. Have a set of Qudelix 5xs which come with EQ profiles for this, which balances out the sound more favorably. Cons: Wish they hit faster

> 24 hourI have a large head and the fact I can grab these and throw them on with 0 adjustment alone is a huge plus. GREAT sound for the money. VERY on the warm side, if you like that. Great for listening, probably dont want to mix with these though. If you like a bit more of a scooped sound consider the 99 neos. which I also own. Love them both but for VERY different reasons

> 24 hourI own an embarrassing number of headphones priced from $800.00 to $10.00. I own open back, closed back, semi open back, ANC, iems, bluetooth headphones, bluetooth iems. These headphones stand out in the crowd for their performance, build quality and outstanding looks. They are extremely comfortable and can be worn for hours without fatigue. They feature a enjoyable sound signature with a slightly boosted low end. While many headphones today boost their lows these dont sound muddy or boomy like most of the other companies. The bass goes deep but never bumps up against the mids or gets unnatural. Mids are well represented and very smooth and accurate. Highs sing a very nice song without sibulance or fatigue. For closed back cans their sound stage is impressive with good width and depth. Instruments are well placed and easy to pick out. These have become my favorite closed back headphones because they have such an enjoyable sound. I do have a more detailed and technicaly accurate pair of closed back headphones but they reveal every flaw in poorly recorded songs or dont sound good with lower bit rate recordings. The Mezes just shine no matter what the source, bit rate or quality of the recording they just make songs sound better. In addition they scale well with better sources and amps. Very nice with tube amps. Wow, beauty, comfort and just plain enjoyable sound. What more can you expect from a headphone.

> 24 hourI really cant add much to whats already been said, but these are so well built and so beautiful for the price. The sound is just south of neutral with excellent dynamics and a boatload of details. Think of it as a more exciting but slightly less refined cousin to the senn HD 650. And golly gee I prefer the more energetic meze to the 650, which I always found a bit too polite. So HD 650 is world class is meze 99? well if its not its very, very close and I appreciate ( thanks Jules ) the slightly boosted bass and more extended treble, without losing any detail. In a word this headphone for the price is probably the best thing going right now, unless your looking for a flatter reference type can. But where is the fun in that?? Oh and I wanted to add these came with the bigger, deeper earcups and are super comfy for many long hours.

> 24 hourI needed a closed-back headphone for work as I didnt want to annoy my coworkers with my open-back Grado headphones so I bought the Meze Classics 99 headphones, based on reviews on Head-Fi.org. tl;dr: The Meze 99s are not perfect, but they are good-sounding, very comfortable headphones. The Meze Classics 99 have a lot of bass, but arent overpowering. The midrange is good, as is the treble. My only complaint about these is that the resolution is OK to good, not fantastic. Sometimes instruments are very distinct, other times they can get a little muddy. That said, these are very listenable headphones. They are not exhausting to listen to for long periods. You find yourself wanting to listen more, which is a good thing. The sound stage is surprisingly good for closed headphones; somewhat better than the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros. The earcups run on the small side, but the pads and headband are extremely comfortable. I have used them in 8-hour sessions and dont really notice the smaller earcups. The construction seems to be very solid: walnut, steel, and pleather - no cheap plastic in sight! They do come with some nice extras, too. A hard shell carrying case, connectors for both 1/4 inch stereo jacks and a airplane connector, and two cables: a 1-meter cable with a microphone for mobile phone use and a 3-meter cable without a microphone for home listening. Overall, these headphones are well worth the price, and I am very pleased with them. 4.8/5.0

> 24 hourMeze Classics 99 have excellent sound quality and are incredibly comfortable. After 2 years of use they still work like brand new. I was hesitant about buying a pair of headphones from a relatively unknown brand unless you are an audiophile of course. These headphones are great on my laptop, Galaxy Note 10 and my Apple iPad and iPods. If I compare them to my Bose and Logitech/Corsairs/Razers - there is no extra Noise cancelling feature to block out ambient sound, and obviously no rainbow disco LEDs flashing! However if you whack the volume up enough then you can drown all other noises out like kids nagging you! The cable has one button for Play/Pause, it is good but if it just had Volume up/down then it would be amazeballs! These do not fold away so I like to keep them in a cloth carrying bag in my rucksack to keep them from scratches. The wood is a premium feel and I do love the cables, because the bottom half is braided and the top half have two jacks which plug in to each ear phone.

> 24 hourFirst and foremost, these are gorgeous headphones. Meze has really gone above and beyond with premium materials and premium presentation. I was impressed from the moment I opened them. Accessories are all there and packaged in a thoughtful and beautiful manner. My only gripe is the sound - its just not for me. The sound is rich, thick, intimate but to a fault. Im used to planars which are quick but these are too slow and muddy for me to seriously consider it at this price point.

> 24 hourI am an audiophile. I also own the Senneheiser Massdrop HD 6xx open back and the Senneheiser HD 569 closed back. I use a good separate headphone amp. These cans are at least on par with the Senns, but in a different way. I wouldnt say these are a better headphone than those pairs, but these are at least as equally as good in a different way. Tremendous bass and treble while maintaining an very good to excellent midrange. The Senns maybe have a better midrange, well, they probably do, but they dont showcase the low end and the high end like the 99 Classics. If you are into neutral headphones, try the 99 Classics for a welcomed change when you get tired of analytic neutrality.

> 24 hourI was skeptical of these headphones. Who is Meze? Theyre not one of the established audio brands. They simply cant be good. However, after reading so many positive reviews, I felt like I needed to give them a try. Im so glad that I did. These headphones are something special. The feel, look, and most importantly sound special. I wont describe the fit, finish, and comfort, as thats been done in great detail in other reviews. For me it was the sound that made these so incredible. I have no idea what dark voodoo Meze is working with their drivers, but it is amazing. Do they sound better than Focal Utopias, or Audeze LCD 4s? No, but they sound better then anything in their price range, and many that are above it. More amazing is the fact that the sound excellent without a dedicated amp, and you can get a solid HIFI experience from your iPhone. Which is fantastic! Hook them up do a decent DAC, and youre in for a real treat. The only negative Ive seen is that theyre so sensitive, that its easy to send them too much power. So be cautious. Other than that, theyre a great pairing with any music Ive tried. Buy them, and youll be very happy.
