29-10-2024I purchased these headphones with some reservations about the size. I have been looking for a good set to travel with without compromising on sound quality. I did not end up keeping these headphones due to the size (although they are not any bigger than a lot of over ear sets on the market), but they were one of the hardest returns Ive had to make. The sound is exceptional, it really blew me away, and the build quality is solid. Nothing on these headphones looks or feels cheap. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a full size, over ear set.

> 3 dayCaught these on prime day for $247 for that price these are beyond amazing! To start I don’t have oodles experience with high end hp’s, these are warm sounding with exciting, fun sound. They aren’t going to be the most analytical hp out there but for 80%-90% of people these will be all you’ll ever need. I run these with a ifi nano black label amp/dac and it does improve the sound quit a bit. Ppl say these are bass cannons I disagree and find them to have great bass, they are tuned very well and just sound great. You won’t be disappointed.

Greater than one weekFirst and foremost, these are gorgeous headphones. Meze has really gone above and beyond with premium materials and premium presentation. I was impressed from the moment I opened them. Accessories are all there and packaged in a thoughtful and beautiful manner. My only gripe is the sound - its just not for me. The sound is rich, thick, intimate but to a fault. Im used to planars which are quick but these are too slow and muddy for me to seriously consider it at this price point.

> 3 daySHIPPING: The box came yesterday. No issues. UNBOXING: Used my trusty razor blade knife to open the box. The headphone was in a plastic wrapped box. The box was thick and textured with magnetic clasps to hold it shut. Similar to the packaging I have encountered on 1MORE In-Ear earphones. A hard shell carry case unzipped to reveal the headphone with its beautiful wooden ear cup. I took a moment to admire it. Also in the case was a 1/4 adapter and two braided cords -- one shorter and one longer -- in a zip pouch. FIT: The ear cups slipped over my large ears. The right ear rubbed the inside of the cup. No big deal just something I noticed. My ears did get mildly warm and clammy. My Bose and Kenwood headphones do the same thing. They are light and do not distract me when listening to my music and movie collections. SOUND: Very very good. But not excellent. Just short of audio nirvana. MOBILE DEVICES: Good sound from an Android tablet and an iPod Touch. Pleasantly surprised. No need for an amp. PC: Near excellent sound. I use an amp and DAC fed through an optical cable. The amp and DAC kick the performance up a notch or three. OVERALL: Worthy! I like the sound (especially with an amp!) and looks. I reserve a 5 rating for the best and costlier headphones. Cheers! I hope this helped.

> 3 dayThese were my first pair of audiophile grade headphones; or really any headphones above $100. I got them for gaming and music. I have them plugged into a Schiit Magni Heresy amp, a Schiit Loki EQ and a Schiit Modi DAC. Comfort-wise they are perfect. Zero pressure points, not too hot for stationary use, fairly light on the head. The foam covering the drivers does touch my ear like others have noted, but is not bothersome. This could be rectified with new earcups. Build quality is also fantastic at this price point and even exceeds much more expensive cans Ive seen. The walnut is beautiful and I dont think there is a single plastic piece on these phones. No adhesives or glue. In terms of sound, I will say I wasnt blown away at first listen. I think I was expecting an immediate audiogasm, but they just sounded...clear. After a couple weeks Ive noticed I can pick up a lot more detail and separation between instruments. With the EQ off they tend to have a warmer sound. Highs are modest with the mid-bass represented fully. Low-end bass response is lacking. Many, many reviews labeled these as bassy headphones...but Im sorry they are not. Ill be honest I have $50 TaoTronics cans that have more satisfying bass. I even did a blind listen test on my wife (who has never heard nice headphones) and she preferred the el cheapo TTs. For gaming I think they are perfect. The sound is immersive, clean and neutral overall, without dominance on any part of the spectrum. Imaging is much better on games I normally play compared to my bookshelfs or old wireless phones. All that said these just leave me wanting a little more sound-wise. I fiddle with my EQ endlessly but the sound satisfaction Im looking for just remains elusive. I need to listen to some other models at this price point before making a final call. TL;DR: Fantastic build quality, great comfort, with neutral and somewhat buttoned-down sound. If you want something with hard punchy bass or expansive soundstaging, these are not for you. But great all-around headphones at a totally fair price.

> 3 dayI had only read/watched 2 reviews for the Meze and once I got past the audiophile descriptions of the sound which all sounded very acceptable, I was attracted to the simplicity and construction of these headphones. No Glue. Very little plastics. Every piece is replaceable and every part can be disassembled by hand. In my opinion, when looking at the details and holding it in your hands it feels great and looks stunning. How the headband easily slides to accommodate an easy and firm hold of your head. Its also large enough to provide room for large ears without looking cumbersome or awkward. The cable that comes with the headphones are great and it comes with two versions. One that is purely for headphone amps and one with an in-line microphone that could be used with a mobile device. I have been listening to these headphones on either at Schiit Stack (Schiit Modi 3 + Schiit Magni 3) or a Chord Mojo and theres enough detail in these headphones that I can clearly tell the difference between the DAC and Headphone amp. These headphones are competitive in sound quality with headphones that are 1.5-2x the price. As far as I am concerned if you are spending less than $500, these are a must-buy.

> 3 dayI got these after watching dankpods. He was right. These have quality sound in bass, mids, and ok high end. I use these with my ipod all the time. Im thinking of getting a Bluetooth amp.

> 3 dayJust buy them if they are available. Nevermind all the yakkity yakk. Theyre worth way more than $309. Could be your final stop. Need at least 70 hours of break in for the bass to shine right. But then... Oh yeah, theyre beautiful too. Update 08/14/2021: Purchased an ifi Hipdac and so I wanted a balanced 4.4 cable. Well Meze has their own. Just wow! If you want the bass to tighten up and sound clear, taut, and punchy and on and on and on… Just get the 99 Classics, the Meze balanced cable, ifi’ s Hipdac, an Apple CCK and/or ifi’s USB-C to female USB-A for the iPad Pro and you’ll find instant bliss I promise! For around 7 bills for all of the above you’ll get off the Audiophile Nervosa bus forever! Using an iPhone 12 Pro Max and an iPad Pro 2019 version. Did I say JUST WOW!

Greater than one weekThe looks of this headphones is simply stunning with the walnut and the metal frame. To be honest, that why I bought them. And the fact that theyre closed ear cups so that you dont other people when you listen to them. They come with a very nice zippered black hardcover storage case which is very practical and quite pretty too. The sound quality is decent with pronounced bass and good clarity on the top end, however it isnt very tight or very well balanced throughout the frequency spectrum, so I do not consider this to be audiophile quality. But hey, its $99... The metal frame and self adjusting headband work well, look good and the headphones are light and comfortable in an upright position. If you want to lie down in bed or on the sofa the bulkiness of the ear cups and the metal frame sticking out cause the headphones to shift on your head at a weird angle, which makes it less comfortable. Also the ear cups/muffs could be a little bit bigger. I do not have huge ears but they do touch the sides. Furthermore the metal frame rings (metal clunky sound) when to touch it or when you bump into something, or shift around on your pillow. I upgraded to a nicer cable but the included cables are not bad. All in all for the $99 this is a stunning piece of headgear with pretty decent cables and a very nice storage container!

> 3 daySome of the most comfortable headphones Ive ever owned. Excellent sound quality with low impedance, so no DAC necessary to drive them. Great looking too with the walnut cups and the gold accents. Easily recommendable.
