> 3 dayTo start, these headphones look very nice in person. No complaints there. As for audio generally, expect some isolation from outside noises and a competent and quick V-shaped sound signature. These are more bassy than flat, but more analytical than bloated by bass. Musical with a fast attack/decay. The closest things Ive listened to for comparison are the V-Moda M100 Crossfade, which sound very similar to me, though I think these Mezes are a little closer to neutral than the V-Moda.

> 3 dayI was sent a defective product. The Right headphone plug is missing the aluminum stem and tape was left on the cord presumably from some aberrant manufacturing procedure. This appears to be a purely cosmetic deficiency. The 99 Classics sound amazing but I was also hoping to buy from a company with good manufacturing practices and quality controls. Edit: The customer support I received from the Meze team was wonderful. It is clear to me that that they highly prioritize the happiness of their customers. The original rating was 1 star because of the defective product but the new rating is 5 simply because of the great experience I have had communicating with their support team. If you also happen to receive a faulty product for whatever reason, Meze will help you until the problem has been solved.

> 3 dayBest headset I found under $500. Soundstage is expansive and the bass is good. I used these on my 2020 desktop without any amplification, noticed no improvement with a $150 amp. The only problem Is the wood ear cups are a reverb issue if your trying to game and talk at the same time, was a weird experience. Good for music, bad for gaming.

> 3 dayBeautiful. Great sound. Comfortable. Isolate sound well. Have had these for over a year and use them for watching movies at night. Bought Dakoni pads which are more comfortable than the stock ones. Perfect for movies since these are detailed with lots of substance in the base. Also great all-rounders if you can equalize them. Have a set of Qudelix 5xs which come with EQ profiles for this, which balances out the sound more favorably. Cons: Wish they hit faster

01-11-2024Been listening to these for about a week on a THX 789 and geshelli labs enog2. Like they claim, these closed-back headphones are incredibly easy to drive making them a very good option for use in public or on airplanes where sound leak might be an issue. These headphones definitely make a statement with their form factor and the sound is no different. The 99 Classics have accentuated bass, creamy mids, and highs that roll off towards the top. That makes these very pleasing and non-fatiguing set of cans for most people that dont need every single piercing detail. They have a surprisingly wide soundstage for closed cans and the imaging seems to be accurate. Theyre comfortable to top it off, but they are closed so they might get hot during long listening sessions in the summer. Build quality is very good and i have no worries about throwing them into my backpack with the included carry case. Only real complaint for the headphones is the included wire is really long and unless youre plugging into the back of your computer youre probably gonna end up braiding it. Very highly recommended for those looking to sit back and fade away into a sweet world of personal audio.

> 3 dayThese sound as good as they look. They are also the most comfortable headphones Ive ever owned. They have bass that you can feel without taking away from the treble. If you like rock or other bass heavy music, get a pair of these. You can thank me later. They are so efficient that you can get great sound from them by just plugging them into your phone. They give me the wow factor that I was looking for. I returned a pair of the Hifiman Sundara because they didnt have any bass and required way too much power to drive.

> 3 dayGreat headphones! Build quality is great. I love the way the wood cups look. The headphones are comfortable and they didn’t get warm for me as others have stated online. I like the fact that they are very efficient and you don’t need a headphone amplifier. The sound is the best I have heard for the price. I auditioned Sony, McIntosh, Grado, hifiman and Bose. The mid and highs are stellar. Very clean and silky smooth. Spacious. The bass is a little heavy but not over bearing. That can be adjusted with your device. I use the Astell & Kern AK240 for my playback device and the headphones are very dynamic and a joy to just sit and lose yourself with a great album. In Greek Meze means appetizer and they for sure wet your pallet. I don’t have any reservations recommending these headphones.

> 3 dayI had only read/watched 2 reviews for the Meze and once I got past the audiophile descriptions of the sound which all sounded very acceptable, I was attracted to the simplicity and construction of these headphones. No Glue. Very little plastics. Every piece is replaceable and every part can be disassembled by hand. In my opinion, when looking at the details and holding it in your hands it feels great and looks stunning. How the headband easily slides to accommodate an easy and firm hold of your head. Its also large enough to provide room for large ears without looking cumbersome or awkward. The cable that comes with the headphones are great and it comes with two versions. One that is purely for headphone amps and one with an in-line microphone that could be used with a mobile device. I have been listening to these headphones on either at Schiit Stack (Schiit Modi 3 + Schiit Magni 3) or a Chord Mojo and theres enough detail in these headphones that I can clearly tell the difference between the DAC and Headphone amp. These headphones are competitive in sound quality with headphones that are 1.5-2x the price. As far as I am concerned if you are spending less than $500, these are a must-buy.

> 3 dayI cant praise these headphones or the company enough. These are fully worth every penny because they are built to last, and have absolutely amazing sound quality with a perfect fit that makes them so incredibly comfortable. The only sad part that would make these headphones even better is the sound stage.. It feels lacking but personally, I have never felt it soured the experience in any way. These dont require a super fancy DAC or amp to fully enjoy them, you can even use your phone to drive these just perfectly. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to dip their toes into Audiophile equipment.

> 3 dayAlmost too realistic in projection of sound. I swear in some music I have almost a 360 degree listening range as I hear things coming from in back of me. Scares the shit out of me as I think someones there... lol.... These are NOT noise cancelling, and the highs arent quite what Id expect, however this is the best set of muffs Ive ever had.
