> 3 dayFor the money fit and finish are exemplary The wood improves the sound It is comfortable and the headband is self adjusting There is a slight ear sweat in prolonged listening sessions do not necessarily recommend them for use Jin the rain I replaced the cable and earpads O am an audiophile The one negate thing for me is the earpads are not snap on. And the cable is designed to release under pressure. You might like that Highly recommended.

> 3 dayI previously had the Drop version of these which I had RMA’d due to loose plug connection in the ear cup itself causing the audio to cut in and out when there is too much movement in the cable / lateral pressure to the plug. This one had the same issue as the two Drop meze 99s. so three of these Meze 99 have had left/right Channels cutting off. Unfortunate because these are actually fun headphones for upbeat music. The bass is nice for DNB, techno, hip hop, funk, etc. Still leaves enough clarity in the highs and mids and the soundstage is surprisingly ok for closed cans . I prefer my sennheiser HD 500s or any HD600s longer wear sessions

> 3 dayThe sound quality is outstanding for the price. I would call this a very good value for the price. I like them much better than my old Bose NC headphones.

> 3 dayAt first I was a little undecided about purchasing headphones I never heard of or even listen to before buying. Well after listening to all the known brands and seeing how much plastic I getting for my money I decided try out MEZE Classic 99 the company advertised they were completely serviceable and if I didn’t like the sound I send them. Well after listening to them these MEZE Classics 99 headphones aren’t going anywhere but on head did I mention the ear cup are made out of walnut

> 3 dayIve had these headphones for about a month, and have really enjoyed using them. They sound very clear, and its incredibly easy to separate different instruments and notes. Lower noises sound punchy (again sounding distinct and not muddled together), and higher notes dont sound too sharp. Listening to music on these headphones sounds very full and rich. These headphones replicate sound very well. In my opinion, listening to instruments sounds like they were being played right in your head (obviously this also depends on the quality of the recording). The wood on the pair I received was a lighter color than in the pictures. Not nearly as light as the maple, but more of a tan color. The grain circles around where the band attaches (not sure if that really every differs). The ability to plug in different lengths of cable is pretty handy. Though I wish it was possible to put the headphones in the case without having to take them out (they stick out the bottom a bit too much). The biggest complaint I have about these headphones (which I dont think is a deal breaker keeping in mind the other positives), is that the automatic sizing of the band feels like it squeezes or pulls up just a bit too much. So wearing them for a few hours then taking them off feels like like taking your shoes off wearing them all day, in that you could probably wear them longer, but its nice to take them off. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a pair of good headphones. I would say if these are in your budget, theyre well worth the cost.

> 3 dayI didnt expect these headphones to sound as good as they do. The 99 classics plus amazon hd music have been a real joy to listen to. Only gripe, earcups are a little small for my ears, cups rub against my ears. Very comfortable to wear for extended listening sessions. I can only describe the sound as natural and warm, not to bright.

> 3 dayThese are my first purchase of audiophile grade headphones and these have surpassed any expectations I had. Blah blah blah, I could tell you all about myself but Id rather focus on the product here. I will say that although I have worked my way up the chain for home stereo listening, for years Ive listened to MP3s on my phone with cheap-ass ear buds. I mainly use the Meze 99s at work and have three listening options - turntable, PC and newly purchased iBasso DX80. My previous pair of headphones was a pair of Jabra Bluetooth so I was able to do some comparison. The Meze 99s blew me away! I listen to anything from classical (DSDs & vinyl) to recordings of music from the early 1900s sourced directly from 78. There is a lot in between there, too, like early Jazz, Electronica (mainly early Industrial), 60s/70s rock and a lot of 70s/80s punk and hardcore music. These Meze 99s surprised the heck out of me as the mastering/source quality is all over the place from track to track but I was able to hear an improvement almost everything - there was more to the music that Ive ever heard before. Enjoying everything so far Im now dusting off numerous things I havent listened to in years to see what it sounds like in this new light. I really like the construction as well. They easily adjust without any intervention to any head size. I also find them to be very comfortable over my ears, seems like the pads that come with are the perfect size for my ears. I would absolutely recommend these to anyone stepping into the world of high-end headphones. I do have one regret - I wish I bought the maple/silver...whaaa me, that is only aesthetics and really, when listening to them I dont have to look at them.

> 3 dayJust got it 2 days ago and a bit too early to comment on the Sound quality, but at first hearing, it sounded clean and with strong deep bass. I was puzzled since the headphones came in a box clearly marked (and shown in a picture on the box) Walnut Silver, yet I ordered Walnut Gold. I called Amazon customer service and they told me to unwrap the box and inspect. I did so and found that they did include the Walnut Gold version, in a Walnut Silver box. I am also puzzled because the signal cables connectors were in a silver finish (unlike the black connectors that are pictured on the Meze Audio web site) which clashes with the Gold metal sockets and the rest of the headphone Gold finish hinge parts. Also, the included carrying case sports a silver colored Meze emblem, not the gold colored emblem shown on the company web site. So it appears that everything in the box is set up for Walnut Silver headphones. Perhaps I should have just simply ordered Walnut Silver. The fit and finish of the headphones is first rate. Clamping force on my head is just right, and the headphones are very comfortable. I am very happy with the included accessories. The lengths of the short and long headphone cords are just right. Edit update 10-22-17: I found the user manual in the box. The headphone cables have a silver Meze Audio emblem on cable splitter, so again, it is designed for the Walnut Silver headlphone, NOT the Walnut Gold headphone that I received in the box. Edit update 10-30-17: Meze offered to send me free replacement gold-tipped cables for my walnut/gold 99 Classics. I received the replacements the other day. They are beautiful. Meze customer service is top notch. I think there was a glitch on the assembly line as the walnut/gold model was put into the box for the walnut/silver headphones with corresponding silver accessories.

> 3 dayI wanted to love these so bad. The design is beautiful. The wood is beautiful. They are very sensitive, dont need an amplifier, work great with a phone. Unfortunately the bass is boomy and bloated and interferes with the mids. The other deal breaker for me was the comfort. The cups are too small, they touch my ears, and when I turn my head side to side it breaks the seal of the pads and does funny things to the sound. I will keep my HD6XX for home listening and IEMs for portable.
