It works, but sometimes it stops. After resetting the SATA port it works again, so a very weird issue. I think I got it refunded, but a lot of hassle replacing it.

This is my first Hitachi drive and let me start by saying these units are heavy! You can tell they are built well and its not noisy at all. So far Im impressed, keeping my fingers crossed.

got the drive nicely packed and static bag sealed. checked smart data and had only 49 hours on. pretty much a brand new drive. probably from my usage of a few days

1. Not shipped in a g-shock approved shipping container like they show in the listing pic. 2. Not in a factory sealed anti-static bag. 3. NOT NEW!!! S.M.A.R.T. log shows over 1,900 starts, 23,000+hrs of run time. They tired to format the boot sector to erase the S.M.A.R.T log, but I recovered it. 4. The drive had visible external scratches and marks. 5. They placed their label over the manufactures drive info label to hide the date code and SN#!!! FRAUD,,, RIP OFFS!!

So far so good! Its working great. Ran a couple diagnostics and all sectors were clear. Seems like I got a good one because mine didnt have any runtime on it.

Good performance and I think I will be buying one more shortly. only thing is this 7K3000 is not available on HGST website and this product was built only for specific server users like hp / dell for big company, but as they have spare such hdd comes out to individual customers.. this hdd is NEW non-used - sealed packed. new series is 7K4000 Ultrastar

Something about this hard drive is causing my PC to auto shutdown. How I know it is this hard drive? I put my old back in the problem disappears. It is not the PS (power supply) have more than enough watts for that hard drive. That being said, the drive performs great, when the auto shutdown issue is not an issue. caches well, fast and a lot of storage space for my swap file.
