> 3 dayI bought this because I wanted a 2T drive and had had a Hitachi for going on 9 years. ThIs is an Enterprise drive and the price was good so I got it. Ive only used it in an ANKER dock and it is noisy and runs really hot. The noise might be damped in a case but the temperature was in the 105 F range. Ill have a further update.

> 3 dayI was building a custom computer for friend of mine and He needs a lot of storage, so I found this drive on amazon for $50. Made by hitachi it says enterprise drive, 64MB of cache and everything. Hard Drive arrived via USPS and it was well secured. the read & write speed is amazing. I got 145mb/s read & write, so that was amazing. Overall the hard drive works like it suppose to, but it does make a lot of noise. I was concerned about this issue, so i run Western Digital extensive Hard Drive test to make sure the drive was working ok and after running the test for 8hrs it didnt find any problem. Ive also checked for bad sectors and again didnt find anything. I know some of the drives does tend to make these type of noises such as some of the older Seagate Drives. I am giving 4 stars because of the noise otherwise the HDD is doing the job like it suppose to.

Greater than one weekDrive arrived promptly from seller and was in well protected packaging. Chose this specific drive as it is a replacement for a failed system drive in a WHS v1 server. The original Windows Home Sever OS requires 512 byte sector drives as opposed to (most new) Advanced Format 4k sector drives. Drive is quiet, runs low temp; so far so good. Recommended.

> 3 dayDrives checked upon receipt and are good. Now on shelf to replace other vendors drives in my RAID as they eventually fail. HGST drives have a good track record.

Greater than one weekI first got this drive to be a backup but I liked it so well that I bought another for a system drive in a medium quality gaming computer. The first one is 3 years old and is rock solid. No problems at all from either drive. Over the past 15 years Ive switched back and forth between WD and Seagate drives, but I am becoming a quick fan of these Hitachi drives even though they are a WD product in essence. It may be mind over matter, but I do like this brand. Will buy again from Amazon when I need another one.
