> 3 dayThis drive was shipped promptly by USPS Priority Mail in two days, beating the deadline by several days and outstripping Amazons delivery of products ordered at the same time by three days. It was simply packed in bubble wrap and a USPS small box but it was in good condition and works fine. It was in a standard sealed anti-static OEM wrapper and appears to be new, not refurbished. I installed it in a PC I use for video editing which is not connected to the Internet and runs XP SP2. The interface is original SATA 1.5 GBs. In spite of the ancient technology it installed easily and shows disc-to-disc transfer rates of about 60 MB/s. Slow, but no doubt limited by the transfer rate of the older drive. I am so impressed I am about to order another.

Greater than one weekBought 2 of these--life savers! They are replacements for my Stripe 5 RAID. Removed the old one, put this one in its place with no issue, the RAID ran the formatting and then rebuilt itself. My data is secure.

> 3 dayprior to purchasing this, i was informed about studies done on internal harddrives used by many companies and through that, hitachi seems to be the gold standard for longevity or how long the drives lifespan is. many reviews though who have purchased from this line seem to have received old, used drives or completely be dead on arrival. i am very pleased with the drive and the seller. im also glad that despite a few 1 star ratings here and there, it did not dissuade me from making a purchase. the package came in excessive bubble wrap, that made the main package bulky. inside was another box with another layer of bubble wrap around the drive itself, and then the non-static packaging. i dont see how any of the drives delivered or shipped this way could be used or old, my drive seemed brand new. on the drive itself - i dont see why reviewers state its loud and excessive. its dead silent....does not make any noise or sound, and seems to run very cool. - the drive itself i believe winds itself down when not in use so in essence it isnt being read by the computer 24/7 which i believe contributes to its lifespan. but when you do attempt to access it, it does take a few seconds to load back up, which is logical. - the drive copies very quickly, i cant see for a need to have greater speeds than this. this is probably the most affordable / quality drive in the market. - the drive uses about 19 gigs out of its 2tb availability.

> 3 dayThis is an excellent drive at a good price. My only reason for giving it 4 stars was that I feel they should have included instructions on formatting the drive in a more prominent manner. It cost me a lot of wheel spinning to get the drive installed on my computer. To be fair, the instructions to go the their website and follow the steps for formatting were on the shipping document - they were just in very small type on the paper that often I just throw away.
