1. Not shipped in a g-shock approved shipping container like they show in the listing pic. 2. Not in a factory sealed anti-static bag. 3. NOT NEW!!! S.M.A.R.T. log shows over 1,900 starts, 23,000+hrs of run time. They tired to format the boot sector to erase the S.M.A.R.T log, but I recovered it. 4. The drive had visible external scratches and marks. 5. They placed their label over the manufactures drive info label to hide the date code and SN#!!! FRAUD,,, RIP OFFS!!

Normaly drives are supposed to last 20,000 hours before they start having problems however this drive only lasted 4,000 before it started slowing way down and making grinding noises when files were transfered on and off of it. Other than that it was a good cheap drive. You get what you pay for

got the drive nicely packed and static bag sealed. checked smart data and had only 49 hours on. pretty much a brand new drive. probably from my usage of a few days

I am relieved to find this drive is super quiet! There are several reviews that complained about noise here, so I was reluctant to buy this one, but performance reviews at BackBlaze where this drive got high performance marks, and is said to have greater longevity than its Seagate competitors. But this drive replaced a Barracuda that went into continual service on 2/2013; only time will tell if this one outlasts it.

This is a first day review of the 2TB HGST. Quiet and runs cool. Downside is 130 GB unavailable prior to formatting and partitioning. Thats a lot of missing space. I expect this drive will perform very well.

Installed in minutes and is working fine. Cant beat the price per gigabyte.

Works great for recording TV on my Media Center PC. My old green drive would pause and drop frames all the time.
