Hatch Baby Grow Smart Changing Pad and Scale

Nothing occupied my mind more as a new mother more than wanting to ensure I was producing enough milk and that my babies were gaining sufficient weight. For my first baby, I had to lug him across the city to use the scales at the peds office and all of the available baby scales were hard and hard to use. Im so glad Hatch Baby created the Grow, I consider it an essential tool for breastfeeding mamas. The Grow is an amazingly helpful tool for easing new mothers minds and the ability to track multiple data points is awesome. And in addition to it being an incredibly useful item, its also so nice to look at and so easy to clean. The old days of having to wash multiple changing pad covers a day is gone. And this is so much more hygienic, since you can wipe it down after every change. Thanks for creating a beautiful, practical item, Hatch Baby!

Let me start by saying that the functionality of the scale is excellent. I love being able to weigh my three-month-old as often as I would like. It is also a great size for being used as a changing pad. But, I am very disappointed in the stain that appeared after only being used for three months. I clean this regularly with antibacterial disinfecting wipes, and there have not been big spills on this changing pad. I expected a much longer life from the aesthetic perspective. Functionally the scale is wonderful, and the changing pad is the perfect size. But aesthetically, very disappointing.

This scale costs 4x other baby scales but is accurate, reliable and comes with an app that is worth $100 in its own. So I look at this as an exceptional scale worth $100 that comes with an app worth $100 bundled together at a $50 discount. What’s not to live here? When you wake up at 2 am for a feeding and don’t which side was last or have long lost track of day of the week and how many , the app is golden, like your own feeding doula. Save yourself the trouble of logging the weight from other $50 scales I tried from Amazon and but the bullet on this beautiful piece of baby tech. Your sanity and sleep is worth many $100s.

Accurate measurements but the phone app is otherwise barely functional

I bought this right before I had my son a few months ago and am SO happy I did, even though it was a bit more expensive than a normal changing pad: -looove that I can just wipe it off when things get messy. I have enough laundry to clean lol so its nice not to have to also wash a changing pad cover -hes an eating champ now but it was really reassuring the first month when i had no idea what I was doing and I could see how much he was eating when breastfeeding -Its wonderful not to have to pack him up to head to the docs office if I want to see how much he weighs. I like that I can see all of his weight charted out in the app graph -the color works perfectly in my baby boys room but neutral enough if we ever had a girl! :) Highly recommend to any new parents out there. The first month can be so overwhelming and having this really gave me the confidence that my baby was eating and gaining enough! One less thing to worry about...

Our son was born at 31 weeks gestation and was the size of a 27 week old baby, due to a chromosomal defect affecting just the placenta. Because of this we were really worried about his weight gain. Hatch Baby has been a lifesaver. We weigh him every day at the same time to track his progress. It is so fun watching him gain each day. We have weekly appointments at the doctors office and the scale there always matches our Hatch Baby scale so I am confident in its accuracy. This is such a great tool for anyway wanting to track their babys weight/health.

LOVE. I bought this with the sole purpose of weighing my baby before and after nursing to see how much he was eating and it does an impeccable job. I was on the fence because I thought it was ridiculous to pay so much for a scale that I didn’t “need” and was more for peace of mind but I am SO glad I splurged and got this scale. The peace of mind is worth every penny of always knowing if he is eating enough. 4 stars because it is pretty hard and cold (but lightweight which is nice) so we keep a blanket on top of it so he is more comfortable during changes/weighing but the scale will 0 out with the blanket on there just fine. Just make sure not even a tiny corner of the blanket is touching the table surface and is 100% only on the pad because the scale is THAT sensitive which is great! Absolutely would recommend!

With my first born I struggled with my supply and was encouraged multiple times to supplement because he was under the 25th percentile (really nothing wrong with that!). He is a perfectly healthy 2 year old in the 85th percentile now. Looking back having this scale then would probably have driven me mad. I was already obsessing and this would have given me even more to obsess about. My 3 month old daughter is steadily riding the 75th percentile and my supply is fine. So having this now is not a necessity but I do love monitoring her weight and measuring how much she takes at the breast. She doesnt love bottles and I always struggle to figure out how much my mom or husband should give her when Im at work. This gave me an idea of how much she typically eats in a sitting when nursing. Its nice to look at and easy to clean. I also like to know how much my kids weigh between doc appointments so i can be prepared with proper dosing for meds if necessary.

Love this smart changing pad and scale!! It was a game changer for us. Our baby would eat small amounts but very frequently throughout the day and when he would be fed by breast and not by bottle, it was hard to track how much he was eating. With this scale, we could monitor exactly how much he was drinking from me. This is especially helpful through the sleep training phase where we need to be sure he is eating a certain amount so he can be full enough to last a few hours without a meal. Easy to use and sleek in design!

Works great to calculate my preemies feedings. I was concerned he wasnt getting enough, and this helped me knpw what to give him in breastmilk bottle after feedings! It is accurate to within 0.25. I have tried it witk numerous household items to confirm it is registering close. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I have forgotten my phone more than a handful of times when I have taken my boy to change/weigh him. This scale will ONLY work and document weights if you have device (phone/tablet) to select option and initiate scale. There is no display for the weight on the scale, only on the app. He is a fussy baby already with diaper changes, so I dont like having to take longer than needed to feed him by getting phone again etc. I am going to set up my iPad and leave It next to scale. Only one device can be connected at once, but multiple devices can be logged in to see saved data. It is easy to zero out to include blanket to keep scale more warm for baby. It is super soft, but tends to get cool for my baby. Highly recommend still.
