Hatch Baby Grow Smart Changing Pad and Scale

> 24 hourBefore we bought the Grow, we bought a different home scale and weighed our son every week and it took up quite a bit of space in our son’s bathroom. I wish we had known about the Grow earlier because we would’ve saved so much space. We also used to track our son’s percentile manually on the WHO chart and plot his points along the way. With the Grow, we no longer have to manually chart his percentile or write his weight down. It is so much easier to have everything track all at once! I also love that I don’t have to use a changing pad cover anymore, I can just wipe it down and its good to go. The material is also nice because it isn’t too cold on my son’s bare skin. I will definitely be recommending this to all my mommy or soon to be mommy friends! It has definitely made it so much easier keeping track of our son’s weight! Totally worth the price and piece of mind!

> 24 hourWe mostly loved this scale, while it worked. The bluetooth was a little finicky and it was sometimes hard to get an accurate reading with a squirmy infant, but overall no major complaints. But the scale completely stopped working in 2 years, which is a huge blow for something that costs $150. Customer support sent a bunch of troubleshooting tips, which actually required that I purchase SPECIFIC BATTERIES, specifically saying Weve found that some batteries have even the slightest difference in diameter which doesnt allow for a secure connection to the battery coils. This is absolutely absurd for such an expensive item. And when I bought the specific batteries they recommended, it still didnt work. After the troubleshooting tips failed, the customer support rep said that they wouldnt replace the item since it was out of the 1-year warranty and instead offered a 15% discount on a brand new item. What a joke. I have absolutely NO desire to purchase another expensive premium scale that is going to break again in 2 years. Ill note that we also had issues with our Hatch Rest breaking in 2 years. For some reason, customer support agreed to replace this item even though it was out of the 1-year warranty. But this lack of quality control feels too frequent to support the price tag of Hatch items. Ill note that our family takes great care in our items and the breakage was absolutely not due to neglect or misuse. My family wont be purchasing Hatch items again.

> 24 hourThis is a must have for breastfeeding moms! Our daughter had a really tough time latching when she was first born. When we went her the first doctors appointment, we learned she was dehydrated and down to the 5th percentile on weight. This scale was the only way we could track how much she was eating and closely monitor her weight gain between doctors visits. It’s very easy to use and spot on with our doctor’s scale. The only downside is the app doesn’t allow you to connect multiple devices. A slight inconvenience if you and your partner want to manage weigh ins and track feedings.

> 24 hourI had my last child 5 years ago. At that time, she had trouble eating and after not gaining weight sufficiently, I had to lug her to a local center to be weighed every couple days. This go, its such a comfort to be able to track weight directly from home. On top of the convenience factor, its also just a better changing pad. The shape and curve seems more comfortable. The wipeable surface is awesome – I hated having to throw gross fabric covers in the wash again and again, and having to make sure I always had an extra one in case of accident. And it just plain looks nice – both the pad itself and the well designed app. 100% recommend for anyone!

> 24 hourIt works well until it doesn’t. The foot broke off of the base and it doesn’t work anymore, was only able to use for a few months. It wasn’t worth the cost due to the limited use.

> 24 hourNot only is it a great scale but also an awesome changing pad. It makes clean up when you have a mess so much easier than the standard changing pads. Initially, I was worried about how hard the surface was but my baby got use to it in no time. The scale has been great because I would use it to measure feeds to ensure my baby had enough during breastfeeding. I initially thought it would be a lot of work to weight every feed but it wasn’t at all after you get the hang of it. My baby is also very wiggly but the product has no issues weighting her. Definitely worth the money for this. Would highly recommend.

> 24 hourWith my first born I struggled with my supply and was encouraged multiple times to supplement because he was under the 25th percentile (really nothing wrong with that!). He is a perfectly healthy 2 year old in the 85th percentile now. Looking back having this scale then would probably have driven me mad. I was already obsessing and this would have given me even more to obsess about. My 3 month old daughter is steadily riding the 75th percentile and my supply is fine. So having this now is not a necessity but I do love monitoring her weight and measuring how much she takes at the breast. She doesnt love bottles and I always struggle to figure out how much my mom or husband should give her when Im at work. This gave me an idea of how much she typically eats in a sitting when nursing. Its nice to look at and easy to clean. I also like to know how much my kids weigh between doc appointments so i can be prepared with proper dosing for meds if necessary.

> 24 hourThe weight is accurate. We purchase a hospital grade Medela scale and compared the two scales and they were accurate. However, as a changer it’s sub par. It’s hard, small and clunky. They should add a foam to make it softer. I like the Keekaroo changer way way better.

> 24 hourThe smell right out of the package is terrible. It’s like I’m newly pregnant again and ready to vomit. I hope this goes away overnight. If not I may have to take it to the basement or garage to air out. It’s a really bad smell and I have a feeling it will linger for some time. Additional Review Later: The smell went away a couple of days later and we love this product and highly recommend it. If you are looking for a scale to avoid weight check appointments this scale is not the one... it isnt as accurate as pediatrician/lactation consultant scales and you will still have to go in for a weight check. However, it is good to have for peace of mind. I wouldnt buy this scale before baby is born (unless you are expecting a premature baby). I would buy it after to see if we wanted it then.

> 24 hour1. Nicely designed, simple and sturdy! The material grips any surface and you dont have to worry about it moving around. The design is also sleek and fits nicely on top of my babys dresser. 2. The smart scale is game changing. I had encountered so many feeding issues with my first baby that I knew I needed a scale at home with the second. I cant tell you how exhausting and stressful it was to go to the hospital every 2 days to check my babys weight and ensure he was getting enough milk. The scale and app work flawlessly and are pretty easy to use. 3. Its a changing pad too so one less bulky item to keep around! Very easy to clean which is a plus when you have a new born for sure. I highly recommend this product, especially for new moms. It will bring you so much reassurance and take the guessing out of a stressful situation!
