Just the Facts
> 3 dayI have a North facing garage and for the last several years the garage door would not close when the sun was shining directly on the beam path. Had called the Genie help line and they said they had never heard of such a problem, and just offered the suggestion of switching sides for each of the beams. That was fruitless. Tried installing new beams of the old design as well. Therefore, when I saw that these redesigned beams were available I was hopeful that they would relieve my agita. Sure enough they solved my problem. As others have indicated you will need to install new brackets. Dont worry though, the screw holes align perfectly with the old brackets. As a result no hassle aligning the beams. Just use a cordless drill as the screws are long. Start to finish took less than fifteen minutes. The only thing that would make the situation better is if Genie had sent these for free under my lifetime warranty five years ago. Note these are universal replacements for systems that use the safe-t-beam system. My garage door is twelve plus years old.

> 3 dayVery good product. Our old sensors were damaged and in turn damaged our garage door so we repaired the door and replaced the sensors and now it all works great. My husband changed out the sensors in about 20 - 30 minutes and they have been working for about 2 months with no issues

> 3 dayThis saved me a ton of money over calling someone in to replace the whole opener. Since there are no moving parts in this sensor, I had a hard time thinking that they could just wear out and cause the door not to shut. But I took the gamble, spent the $34 and gave them a shot. I was able to cut off the old ones really close to the sensor and reuse the wiring that was already there. I had to pull back a couple of inches of wire all the way back from the opener to the sensors to have enough to connect the new sensors. I was pleasantly surprised and a little proud that it worked perfectly the very first try!!!
