> 3 dayHas a great look with the color and bits of shell. The cichlids love it bc its easy to dig in. Its small enough for them to move by mouth and big enough so it doesnt get swallowed by fish or sucked up in the filter or vacuum.

> 3 dayLove that it isn’t too fine to where it gets sucked into the filter and it keeps the ph perfect for my cichlids but definitely do rise it

> 3 dayGreat for african cichlid tanks. Keeps the pH at 8+,was easy to rinse, and settled quickly after filling the tank. Plus the black and white sand looks great in my opinion.

> 3 dayMeh... it ok but its not sand. It appears to be a very light weight mixture of crushed lava rock and pumice stone. Very difficult to plant in and decorate. Also very very dirty. It takes a lot of rinsing. Comes with clarifier which is a good thing. Ill be removing this and replacing with natural river pebbles when cleaning time comes.

> 3 dayIf you keep fish from the East African Rift Lakes, you need to buffer the water to maintain high pH. Either you add chemicals or you use the right substrate. Believe me, this is far easier. Its good stuff, it looks right, and its a good price.

> 3 dayThis is a decent substrate. Ive had this sand in a 150 gallon cichlid tank for a about a year with no issues. Fairly easy to clean. Looks nice with holey rock. One word of caution to my fellow hobbyists, the black granules in this substrate are made of a ferrous material that will cling to magnetic glass cleaners. Be careful that you dont scratch your glass accidentally.

> 3 dayWhen this arrived I did not get sand. What I got was some stupid reptile light. Extremely disappointed. They even took the effort to put the label for the item I actually ordered on the light.
