> 24 hourI don’t have fish yet for it but I cleaned a smaller amount of sand in the sink in a clear bowl until it was almost clear by just turning/folding the sand in running water. The bag has directions to cut both corners and insert a hose so it can be cleaned that way but that would be really heavy.

> 24 hourMy assorted Cichlids LOVE this sand! I would recommend 2 bags for a 55 Gallon tank depending on how much or if any plans to get a nice landscape view.

> 24 hourNice mixture, this is a very fine grain sand FYI. It is also a mixture of pure white and pure black. Some sands say they are white but are actually beige or off white, this sand is actually white.

> 24 hourI love the look of it but ...... you will need to take your time in cleaning it before you add it to your tank. I got ( 2 ) bags and the first one first I didnt get all the mud rinsed out. I ended up putting about 24 gal of water in my tank and draining it 2 different times. Even with the clarifier it was still real cloudy after a couple of days. This 2nd bag I took my time rinsing about half of it in a separate container and that seemed to worked a lot better. Now for the other 10 lbs ...... You can not get it rinsed completely in the bag like the directions say. Hope this helps someone. It is a real good product for your Lake Tanganyika aquarium.

> 24 hourAmazon send the fist set of bags and 2 were open and a lot of the sand was lost in shipping , amazon send me 2 other bags for free. I love the salt and pepper look of this sand, so far after 7 water changes the ph is stable at 8.0 Perfect for my Africans cichlids
