This stuff is great after washing a few times it I had no problem with closeness after a few days and it was actually the exact color as the Chiclid rocks that I odered the next day everything looks great

Great for african cichlid tanks. Keeps the pH at 8+,was easy to rinse, and settled quickly after filling the tank. Plus the black and white sand looks great in my opinion.

***Bought from PetSmart & not Amazon*** This sand is fantastic looking! Great aesthetics after the clouding settles down. The bag also includes a free Declouding agent that really does help, I used it and put my turtle back in an hour or two later! Again, great looking sand and would definitely buy more! **Knocked off a star because I had to rinse this a ton of times for it to become even remotely clear.

First of all the bag had a hole in it and got sand everywhere. Second, and most important, its not the same sand as advertised. The package is the same for you would pay $30 for at your LFS, but their are tiny black rocks all in it that mess up the consistency of the sand. I have two bags in my tank now and with the way Cichlids move sand around, the lighter rocks seem to come to the top. It doesnt look as nice and it is not what I expected. They will not process refund without me sending them the product, but the hassle of pulling it out of the tank and packaging it up is just too much stress on the fish to be worth it. Plus, I added 40 lbs to 30 lbs, so what am I supposed to do, separate it? Give me a break. DO NOT PURCHASE. BUYER BEWARE! Pictures coming soon.
