I installed these lights in 4 foot sections to clean, new aluminum. Just to be sure it was clean, I cleaned it again with rubbing alcohol. As I was installing the fourth strip, the first strip was already starting to fall off!!! It didn’t even last 15 minutes! By the next day, without even turning the lights on, all the strips had at least half of the strip detached. Three had completely fallen off. (I had also purchased a different brand of light with 3M adhesive strips, there was no adhesive problem with those lights.) I’m satisfied with these lights, but I’ll have to remove the adhesive strip and replace them with something that will actually stick! If I hadn’t already done all the setup and soldering, I would just throw them out and start over with a better brand! Update: I peeled the adhesive backing - it came off quite easily. I replaced it with “3M (38583 1/4 x 15 Exterior Attachment Tape” 1/4 inch width (from Amazon). It’s been up for a week with no signs of loosening at all. It took just over one package to do the whole string. Of course this adds about $10 to the cost of the lights, but at least they’re usable now! So, since I have plans to purchase additional strings, now I’m much more cautious about what type of adhesive is used. I will not rely on the “it’s strong” description, I’ll check the pictures looking for the red adhesive strip marked with “3M”. While I’m sure there’s probably other brands that work, I’m not going to waste my time and money to run the experiment. (I’m not receiving anything from 3M lol, I’m just happy I found something reliable!)

I like it but it is more orange than Red. I am a little concerned that it might not be legal on the rear of my car where there is only supposed to be red lights.

I bought the blue LED strip that could hook up to a car/boat battery. Very simple. A Pos lead and a Neg lead. I unrolled the strip and hooked them up to a toggle switch in my 16 fishing boat. I stuck the strips up underneath the gunwales. I just finished installing them and they look great. Very use to install and the strips felt very sticky/tacky. I hope that they stick for a long time on aluminum. Great shipping, but Im fearing that they will lose their tackiness and fall out of place. If they last more than a season or two, Ill update this review to a 5 star. In hind sight... I should probably put a fuse on the Pos lead .... but that will be a project for another day.

I have only had them on our pontoon boat for a few days, the adheasion seems good. Only time will tell. My boat has a powered accossory switch already on the console so that made the install easier. The brightness is good they have a 5050 led brightness. I also bought the 22AWG red / black wire that worked well. I recomend soldering all connections if used on a boat and using a coragated split conduit. Two strips wired together draws 12 AMPs I had to put in a 15 AMP breaker. The whole project cost about $40 A week later and got to see them in the dark on the water very bright and look great. It’s been a month now , with lake time all good

So I ordered both the white and blue versions of these and it started burning out. I had them not as well ventilated and the power supply was reading 12.5V so I improved ventilation and reduced voltage to 11.5V (I had a power supply with a pot for minor voltage adjustments). They worked fine for a couple weeks so I went to see if it was just the ventilation and put the power supply back to 12.5V. They started burning out again in the next day. These strips are way too sensitive to voltage with 0.5Volt above normal operating being enough to burn them out. If you run them lower then 12Volts you might be okay, but make sure you check voltage before connecting.

Works as describes. Bright. Mounted under our 5th wheel and wired to the step light. Must wire positive and negative wires correctly to work. Power wires are not reversible like an old bulb set-up.

Using these for my Thule Awning lights on my van. They mount underneath the awning and are not subjected to sunlight/heat, so the tape holds. So far so good. I paired them with a wireless controller so I can dim them. The light output is decent enough that they could be the only light during the night, but they are super bright. If you want a really bright campsite you will need additional lighting.

One month later and still going I used a foot of this to replace my burnt out third brake light in my spoiler (Some kind of aftermarket spoiler that the previous owner put on and I could not find the part online) It definitely gets wet and takes the heat of the Texas sun. Edit: 1.5 years later still working great

Great product. Super bright LEDs and easy to install. I didnt like the adhesive tape that comes on these, as it peeled off when just trying to remove the backing, so I used the 3M auto-adhesive tape and it works great. Installed the lights under the gunnels on my bay boat and looks great!
