ALITOVE 16.4ft 5050 SMD Red LED Flexible Strip Ribbon Light 5M 300 LEDs Waterproof IP65 DC 12V for Home Garden Commercial Area Lighting

I received this LED light strip on June 6, installed under my kitchen cabinets June 10, today is June 20 and the LEDs are burnt out in 3 places! Also extremely hot to touch. My other LED light strips (different brand) are warm but not hot. I guess you get what you pay for! I do not recommend this product.

So I ordered both the white and blue versions of these and it started burning out. I had them not as well ventilated and the power supply was reading 12.5V so I improved ventilation and reduced voltage to 11.5V (I had a power supply with a pot for minor voltage adjustments). They worked fine for a couple weeks so I went to see if it was just the ventilation and put the power supply back to 12.5V. They started burning out again in the next day. These strips are way too sensitive to voltage with 0.5Volt above normal operating being enough to burn them out. If you run them lower then 12Volts you might be okay, but make sure you check voltage before connecting.

I like that you can trim or combine two or more strips together.

Edit 1, 2/13/20 ; removing backing is extremely difficult, the best method I found was to take a razor blade somwhere middle of a strip, NOT AT AN EDGE!, and try to find a magic spot that will peel up the red liner/backing only , tedious and hit n miss, but succesful so far. if you try this at the end of a strip, it will probably just separate the black stikem pad and ruin the strip, as far as sticking to something goes. My guess is that his run or the entire product selection is from 10 or 15 year old stock, as the sticky substance has leached into the red backing plastic and all has tried to become one. I had to take off two stars , especially since the vendor must know what he has here, I dont see how this could be some suprise to them.. ======= Inititial review: I hope these hold up, will report back later, very impressed. I have a cheap lense that I tried Daylight (DW SMDs) , all I got was kind of pinkish light, mocked these up real quick, and wow!! I can use the DW to light up the motor on my bike, reds will be used on my after market tour pack, took off the original as it is quite a lot of weight, and dont need that much storage.. They are bright. and not to expensive but they dont stick to well to wood at least

These lights deliver. They actually have what appears to be genuine 3M tape . They stay in place and they are bright.

It only worked for six months before it started having segments fail. Now about only half of the led strip works.
