First, I got a brand new machine from Amazon. I updated to the latest ChromeOS and let my kid use it. We noticed graphic glitches when playing Roblox. Then only a couple of days in ownership it hanged hard during game. I powered down the machine and it did not boot up after that. I tried a lot of things suggested from the Internet and nothing worked. I had to resort to using the recovery image and wipe the whole machine and that still did not work after the recovery. The machine eventually worked normal the next day. Then it hanged again within the first week while using Zoom. That time I was able to reboot. Because of these problem in the first week I returned the machine.

We purchased the Acer Chromebook Spin 314 in Feb 2023 for $345.49 and less than 2 month later, it started to turn off erratically. Each time, a hard turn on (using the side button) was required to turn it back on. Now, 3 months later, it turns off more frequently, and it is harder to turn back on each time. It is insanely annoying, and most certainly not an expected behavior for a Chromebook. I tried to return it (not possible, since I had passed the return date), and tried to contact the reseller eTechtronics to, at the minimum, get the computer serviced, or replaced. After multiple inquiries, and now several weeks, I did not receive any response back. I am truly disappointed with my experience with Amazon and eTechtronics and will most certainly never order computers on Amazon anymore.

I was able to find a Chromebook Spin 13 as an Open Box (but never taken out of the box) on EBay for $479. Id been agonizing between the hp x360 14 vs Asus flip c434, when I became aware of this. After some research, I quickly realized this is probably the best Chromebook (specwise) that you can get... and nobody really considers it because its largely for a Business Audience and the price isnt especially practical. If you are spending the retail price and you need something for business, youll probably get a Windows 10 machine. However, at $479 (no tax/free-shipping), it was a no brainer. High resolution screen, Stylus, Intel Processor, Fully convertible, back-lighted keyboard, great speakers, 10hrish life, great keyboard, etc... its really perfect. Would I have ever got one for $799? No, and Id have missed out. Anyway, if you can find one at a good price (or you just dont care about price), its pretty darned perfect if you want a Chromebook.

Fairly light for its size, high-quality, great screen, touch-pad and keyboard.

I wanted to get a feel for everything a Chromebook was capable of and how good an experience it could be, so I went looking for one with a broad feature set, generous configuration, and was of high quality.

I like the idea of a laptop and a touch screen, but within 4 months the screen would fade out and produce this bar screen! NOT HAPPY!
