> 3 dayI used this 1095 to make my own version of the Condor Bushlore. Pretty identical only 2 longer and with a nice set of tigerwood scales. The steel came annealed for easy machining and after two thermocycles I got the steel to bright orange (non magnetic) and plunged it into some Parks 50 quench oil. Tempered for 1 hour at 400 degrees. I am really pleased with the toughness, hardness and razor sharp efficiency of this blade. . .ordering again today!

> 3 dayThe good thing about these is that they do come well packaged. All four pieces are wrapped at once in the paper though, so nothing between each piece of steel. VERY light rust prevention oil (almost imperceptible), but it is there. All four pieces do measure 1.500 by 12. They are not quite 0.12 thick, though. My measurements ranged from 0.1145 - 0.1180 thick across each piece. Do not make the assumption that these are 1/8 thick because they are not. two of pieces seem to be quite flat, but two of the pieces have a bend and will require flattening. Overall, I cant say not to buy them for the price, but know what to expect when you receive them.

> 3 dayMy son has his own forge and makes knives, so he was super happy to receive this from me. The size of them is perfect for his needs and he said they worked great in the forge.

> 3 dayIts shiny, its hard, its magnetic, seems to be exactly what I ordered. Im no expert in making sure its exactly the type/hardness its supposed to be, but either way its steel, and the dimensions are correct. Came packaged well, no moisture, no rust. Ill be sure to update this review after working with some of the pieces, but Im sure Ill be just as pleased with it then as I am now. If you need some small pieces of flat stock for making things, this will do just fine.

Greater than one weekThese knife blanks are just the right size for making knives from small to large. The knife in the picture was not made from one of these blanks. I just used it for a size reference as it is a large butcher knife. The steel arrived in good shape with no rust and it is straight and well cut with no sharp burrs. 1095 is a probably the most widely used steel in knife making and should harden and hold an edge well.

Greater than one weekThese pieces are great, very little cleaning up before using them. I dont personally forge, I got these for welding practice, but they are cleaner than the steel you can buy just about anywhere. Most of that takes a decent amount of work to clean off, but not these. Im sure forgers would appreciate it too. I have no idea if they are the steel they say they are, but certainly seem to be excellent steel.

Greater than one weekThe strips are of excellent quality for making things on a laser cutting machine. I would recommend them for the cost and the use ability

> 3 dayDecent price. Arrived with some tarnish on one bar. Two of the bars arrived with significant and visible warping. I am doing stock removal knives, so the warping is a big issue. I will have to try to correct the warping with heat treating.

> 3 dayI’m not a knife maker, but I like keeping stock around to make scrapers and blades that can be hardened and sharpened. This is great stuff.
