> 3 dayThis bundle of steel plates is very nice it comes already polished cut to the correct length and thickness if you are using it for a straight 1095 blade you won’t have to do anything if you are doing some type of Damascus you’re definitely want to degrease the Steel as it does come with a thin film of oil on it this is a great amount of steel for making multiple knives for the price definitely worth it

01-11-2024Nice blanks. Came without any tarnish and are very flat with no deviation, oiled in wax paper and bubble wrap. I tried to bend one on the bench and it was very strong with minor flexing. All in all, worth the money. Time will tell how well they are when creating a blade, but we shall see. Worth it.

Greater than one weekAs others have noted, the dimensions of this 1095 flat stock are slightly under the claimed size for all measurements. However, for a beginning knife-maker, this is a convenient source for an annealed high-carbon steel. This flat stock is pretty well-suited to making a cut-out knife, but rather thin to start with for a forging technique. Circling back to the idea of being a good fit for a beginning knife-maker, though, this offers a chance to refine your grinding and shaping techniques without the complexity of making a full-forged blade.

> 3 dayIts shiny, its hard, its magnetic, seems to be exactly what I ordered. Im no expert in making sure its exactly the type/hardness its supposed to be, but either way its steel, and the dimensions are correct. Came packaged well, no moisture, no rust. Ill be sure to update this review after working with some of the pieces, but Im sure Ill be just as pleased with it then as I am now. If you need some small pieces of flat stock for making things, this will do just fine.

> 3 dayMy husband is a full time bladesmith. I ordered these on a whim as he is teaching a class in the near future and was hoping to not have to use more of his high quality, expensive steel to teach damascas basics. He was excited when he saw these and was surprised that they were so clean. The measurements were also spot on which is relatively rare these days. None were bowed nor crooked. He said it was very sturdy and each blank was very clean and very strong with very minimal flexing. Hes excited to see how they handle under some heat.

> 3 dayPackage contents as described. Mostly flat, smooth, ready to turn into something useful like a knife. No rust - well packaged in that regard. I was a little disappointed that these were shipped without an other box. They all have a slight bend to them, probably from shipping abuse. Certainly not a ground flat item as received, but these also were not advertised to meet that standard.

> 3 daySpark tested this, definitely high carbon. The packaging, as others have said, was good. No rust, no pitting, very light oil, fast shipping, and everything got to me undamaged and not bent or twisted. Looking forward to testing really testing this steel.

> 3 dayMaking knives? This 4 pack of flat steel bars is exactly the material to get. This 1095 stock is 12x1.5x0.12 in size and high carbon that has been rolled and annealed. When I opened the package, I noted it was in three different layers of rust proof oil and paper and then also bubble wrapped to help prevent damage and rust. I cannot imagine a better steel product for knife making or even using it in welding or as a spacer. It is a steal for the quality it brings too.
