I could fit two of them on top of my 12 terrarium screen lid. Although they require specific bulbs (universal in that case and even purchased LED bulbs from my local ACE Hardware), they work fantastically. Definitely recommended.

Very cute and Im excited about saving energy! (Hey, my husband knew I loved animals when he married me!) I am using this to replace one of two 150 watt ceramic heaters on a 20 gallon long tank for two leopard geckos in my preschool classroom. I havent tried it yet as I want to be in the class to monitor the temperature (50 watt blue day light bulb). I will update with the results. I do love the mounting spring clip. Although my students know not to touch the heat lamps, it increases their safety. The bulbs are around $3-$5 each. Well see how long they last.

These bulbs get VERY hot, very fast. Probably best with a proportional thermostat.

I bought two of these to replace other fixtures on my Bearded Dragons 40 gallon terrarium. I enjoy that these take up less space, are lighter on the metal screen (not as much bowing down), and the fact that these have spring clips to hold the fixture in place when I need to move or lift open my screen top. Between buying these and an 18 strip light for a UVA/UVB T8 Bulb I have been able to drop my energy use by a 1/3 of what I was using. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to have a lighter carbon footprint and just do a general refresh on the items being used.
