30-10-2024I love this soap! I bought this in May 2016. It is now February 2018. I shave virtually every day using this soap and a bristle brush. It has lasted, and lasted, and lasted. I was getting near the bottom of the bowl, so last month I removed what remained at the bottom, put in a replacement cake, and put the dregs of the old on top of the new cake. I am only now getting down to the new cake. It is absolutely unbelievable how long this lasts! I load up my brush, then whip it up in a shaving scuttle. It produces incredibly dense, rich foam, and I usually have leftover lather. Think about it. I have gotten nearly two years of shaves out of this! And I love the scent. Old-fashioned, masculine, lingers but never heavy. I have had problems in the past with shaving soaps either drying my skin out or giving me pimples from being too oily. This soap has never done either. I cant say enough good about it. Tabac shaving soap, used with an Edwin Jagger double-edged razor and Derby blades, has given me the best shaves ever, and i virtually never get ingrown whiskers any longer.

31-10-2024If you like variety in your shave soap rotation, make room for Tabac and buy a jar. This soap comes as a refill puck with a jar to set the puck in. Press it in using all of your mite. Ive heard of some where the puck has come out for them after using for a while but I have not had this problem, but if yours does come loose you can use a food grater to shave the soap into small flakes then add the flakes to the jar and press all in place using a piece of wax paper on top of the soap. Problem solved! The fragrance of this soap is truly unique having a woodsy spice note (Bergamot) to it. I found it easy to lather by first loading a shave brush with this soap. Ive had no problem loading a badger brush, boar brush and also a horse hair shaving brush. All of my shaving brushes easily load this soap into them by merely soaking the brush in water (several minutes minimum), shake the water out of the brush then swirl the brush on top of the soap for upwards of 30 seconds. Thats all there is to it. I have face lathered with Tabac and I have also built lather in a scuttle. If you build your lather in a scuttle or a bowl, give it time to whip into a nice thick lather, about 3 minutes of swirling the brush and soap together in the scuttle/bowl

Greater than one weekI am fairly new to shaving with a badger brush and shaving soap, but I love Tabac! I read a few reviews online and heard it was easy to lather and smells great! I could not be happier with my decision to purchase this soap! Highly recommended!

Greater than one weekGreat smelling soap. Lathers okay, not as well as a cream like Taylors of bond street. You whip it up in the container, which is a heavy glass or ceramic. Scent is light and perfectly manly and classic.

> 3 dayGreat lather. IMHO, not as good as a few, but way better than most. Scent is not my favorite. Slight citrus, but also a little tobacco.
