> 3 dayI had read various reviews of the Tabac shaving soap that describe the scent being unpleasant or over powering. I found the scent to be pleasant and dissipated rather quickly following a shave. The lather is excellent and easy to generate. Great product.

Greater than one weekThis is the finest shaving soap Ive used, period. With a good quality brush you can make mounds of rich, hydrating lather. Ive used it to shave with DEs and cartridge razors, and it has helped reduce irritation. The most remarkable thing about this soap is how much water you can add while maintaining a slick lather. A little goes a long way. With daily use one puck will last nearly a year. The tub is attractive and refillable. Finally, I love the fragrance--it reminds me of an old-time barber shop. I cant recommend it highly enough--my desert island soap for sure!

> 3 dayIve been shaving with a straight razor for about four months now. I decided to step up from my drugstore soap and try Tabac, and Im glad I did. Let me say that I am not an expert, but theses are my observations. First, the ceramic container is very plain and no-nonsense. The lid is plastic - a good thing, as it will be dropped because it isnt secured by anything. The odor isnt offensive, but I dont like it. It reminds me of that pink liquid soap in public restrooms. Despite the smell, I still like the soap, and Im getting used to the scent. The scent does fade after a rinse and can be covered by your aftershave. For my first shave, I mixed the soap with some water and lathered in a bowl. Good foam, but as I said, Im not an expert. My first pass, with the grain, was pleasant...nothing to rave about. The soap proved itself on the second pass. After putting on another coat of suds, I began my against-the-grain pass. I felt none of the irritation I do with my cheap soap. My razor also didnt skip across my neck whiskers. This soap is very comfortable for that skin-close shave. I give it four stars because of the scent.

Greater than one weekI have tried a number of shave soaps over the past 8 to 10 years, and had almost forgotten about Tabac. Its just fantastic. For the price, you get a huge cake of very dense soap. Im sure this will last me well over a year without issue. The quality of the soap is great. Lathers very quickly into a thick, slick, luxurious foam. I happen to like the smell. I pick up peat smoke, black pepper, under a big floral hit. The smell doesnt linger long after shaving.

> 3 dayFrom other reviews you can tell that the purchase of this soap is a no brainer. The aroma and physical qualities are well tended to. I am an experienced wet shaver for over fifty years and am used to decent glycerin based soap pucks, whether Col Conk brand or the generic types that are sold for about a dollar each from Atlanta Barber Supply. I experienced my first shave with Tabac using an open comb razor and an ASTRA DE Blade that had already been in service five times. With the thick, protective, slick lather that Tabac provided, the used Astra blade felt like it had just been unwrapped new for the first time. I am sure that anyone who knows how to work up a proper lather will not be disappointed in this Quality Shave Soap. Worth every dollar....

> 3 dayIt has a lather second to none. Cushioning and slick. It doesnt dry out or burn. I have been trying to place the smell for a long time. I arrived at that smell when your kid pees in the bed.
