> 3 dayif youve spent the money on these im assuming youve done some research... so theres really nothing left to say. Theyre amazeballs. Should last me the next 20 years. Adorama had them on sale for 300 which is where I got them. Id hold out for another crazy B&H or Adorama deal on these but nothing compares to Amazon in convenience so if you cant wait and have cash to burn dive in. you wont be disappointed. provided you have a decent amp the bass is fine.

> 3 dayI chose the Sennheiser HD650 to use as monitoring headphones in my home studio after talking to a few professional producers. I am very satisfied with them, being able to listen to frequencies I had no access to before. And the sound is not harshly flat, it is beautiful and reliable. One of the professional musicians I talked to (movie soundtrack producer) told me that after using the HD650 his mastering engineer started to tell him that his tracks needed no mastering, they were sonically perfect. This guy also told me that him and his producer friends prefer the 600s than the 800s series, which are too precise and offensive to the ears.

> 3 dayI ordered these after reviewing them extensively on YT. All I heard were rave reviews. I dont find anything special about them. My amp (Marantz PM6005) is usually rather warm sounding but through the HD650s, the highs were shrill although the bass was solid. Theres decent detail and separation but theyre not cans that I plan on listening to for long periods of time. In all fairness though, Im assuming that its my amp that is the weakest link in this equation. I doubt that in has much of a quality headphone amp to speak of. Thinking Ill give the HDs a fair shake when I upgrade its source. Im just glad I didnt pay the full $500/pair that the market reports.

> 3 dayI have the 598s and worried that these would be very similar sounding, just with a bit more base. Wow, what a difference. These have more bass for sure but they also have a wider soundstage and are crisper in the highs. Im using the same amp with a higher gain but thats it. There are sounds that I didnt hear with the same detail and clarity as I do now. I did have to get use to having a cord on each ear rather than the 598s single side, and the cord is noticeably thicker now, but the thing I liked on the 598s over the 650s would be the ear padding. The 605 has very stiff padding. This may loosen up over time I suppose. As for now I am enjoying them immensely and dont regret upgrading my 598s to these!
