> 3 dayGot these to replace my HD600s, I find these to be better for my gaming/casual listening needs and I still use the 600s for mixing/referencing. Great combo to have! Only downside is how tightly they fit my head, and I have a relatively small head. Takes some stretching out.

> 3 dayI was acquainted with this gear long before I decided to purchase one, so I knew already what to expect, when I opened the box, and connected my new pair of cans to my audio source. I am among the fortunate ones to receive a perfect copy, the sound performance of this gear is outstanding, pure perfection for the price. The first few hours of audition clearly indicated, that the gear is not ready for any critical listening right out of the box, the initial sound weighted heavy on the lower end, with somewhat sloppy bass. Within a few hours though, all that started to clear up, and within less than thirty hours of break-in, I started to recognise the sound characteristics, of what I heard from others of these, in the past. I urge patience from anyone new to the HD650s, who never had the chance to hear their performance, first hand. Years ago, I owned a pair of HD600s, I truly enjoyed them for their wide soundstage, incredible details and great treble extension. The sound of the HD600s though were too lean for my taste, I often found them lacking on the lower end, and their treble a bit harsh. The HD650s seem to answer those issues, offering a full spectrum of purely balanced, slightly dark flavored sound, with incredible details and sound stage. I will not get into a lengthy rant, detailed and extensive reviews for these cans are available everywhere, since they have been on the market for many years. I would not recommend them for portable solution, their huge size, along with the open aire design would make them impractical on the go, for outdoors and public places. While they produce adequate sound level from portable audio sources, smartphones and DAPs, they truly benefit from a desktop headphone amp, like a Schiit Valhalla 2, to name a budget example. Pros: Great design, lightweight, super comfortable and relatively easy to drive. Cons: none. I find no reason against highly recommending these for anyone, who like to enjoy high resolution audio, and not looking to shell out many hundreds of $$$ more . They are not perfect, but IMO no single pair of headphones can be. For their current asking price of $319, not sure how one can expect more.

> 3 dayGot it at a steal deal price of Rs. 24500/-. Lucky me. I was worried however whether it will be genuine or not. But I got it verified from the sennheiser product validation page. And as far as the product is concerned, I am pretty sure you have come here after reading all the reviews about it being one of the legendary headphones of all times. But buyers beware, this will require an AMP to power up. DAC is still optional. For the AMP, I suggest Schiit Magni 2, which will set you back for another 10k.

> 3 dayThis is my first audiophile class headphones that I owned. At first I only bought skull candy headphones because of its stylish designs and at the time seemed excellent in sound quality.then I bought a set of beats by dre solos, and thought those were pretty good...then I somehow came across an add about high quality audiophile headphones...I read about the hd800 and how it was considered to be one of the worlds best headphones on the market. Saw the price for it and almost passed out. How can people pay that much just for headphones?! It didnt make sense to me at all! Ive been spending no more than $200 on my previously owned headphones, and I thought those were waaayyy to expensive already...

> 3 dayThese headphones are slightly colored. Most people prefer that, but if youre using them for studio monitors, you wont find better than the HD800s. Trust me. But for everyday use, these cant be beat for dynamic open headphones. Combine them with a full tube amp and I highly doubt youll find a better stuck on an island the rest of your life headphones.

Greater than one weekI was very disappointed at the beginning, not going to lie. But after some time Ive come to love them. I have an atom stack, and works like a charm. Vocals felt recessed at the beginning, but perhaps I got used to them because now I dont find any trouble at all, and I also have the dt 880 600 ohm.

> 3 dayWould have been 5 stars but my left channel produced a harsh crackling sound when playing low frequencies past a certain volume. Unfortunately had to return them because of this issue. Otherwise, these were the best headphones I have ever used. Highly recommend if you can get a properly working pair. Still deciding if I want to order another pair of these or get something else because I liked them that much.

> 3 dayAfter 5 months of research, I pulled the plug and got the HD 650s. So glad I did. I am powering them through a Dragonfly Red - listening to Master quality from TIDAL. A little too much bass for my taste, but thats an issue with the dragonfly. I am going to get a better DAC, and continue to post my impressions.
