Greater than one weekI bought the Samsung T5 Portable SSD 1T Hard Drive for storage and it seems to be working fine. The reason I bought the hard drive, in the first place, was because it has no moving parts and should last longer than a conventional hard drive.

> 3 dayAs we all may know, COVID-19 has caused a lot of us to become quite dependent on our computers and technology. I am currently a college student going through Zoom classes and my computer had a malfunctioning hard drive half way through the semester. I was in panic as the Apple Store had told me it would not only cost a lot, but take a while to fix. Through research, I had discovered that I could use this as a hard drive replacement and a place to boot my computer. I ended up buying the product which came the next day thanks to Amazon. As soon as I got it I plugged it in, downloaded OS, and to my surprise, my computer was actually able to perform normally. It is now the end of the semester and I would like to say that the drive has been working wonderfully. I have spent many nights and days studying for hours on end with no problems or headaches coming from the drive. There are some cons such as not being able to search for files or having to carry the drive everywhere with me, but those are small problems that take no real toll on me. Overall, this drive was a life saver and I would honestly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quick and easy hard drive replacement (especially for those using MacBooks that have soldered SSDs).

> 3 dayI have been using the Samsung T5 portable SSD 1TB for saving all my computer, photo, and video data. It is nice to see transfer rates in the 300mb/sec+ on a regular basis. I never had to use any tech support so I could not rate that feature.

> 3 dayWorked well while it worked (fast, good capacity), but its been less than nine months and has failed. Just flashes the blue light whenever plugged in without being recognized by the computer. Disappointing because I paid premium for a solid state drive and bought a separate silicone cover AND protective travel case to ensure that the drive would last. And it still didnt even last a year. Never dropped it. Waste of money.

Greater than one weekAbsolutely love this product! Very simple to use on Mac or Windows! You do not have to reformat it to use on either system. Works perfectly on any laptop I have connected it to! I only wish they made this in a 4TB. Other than that, I love love love it!

> 3 dayGreat drive. Got the 2TB version. Has been working well for months now. I have edited several weddings and sports videos on this drive. I switch between machines relatively frequently so needed something that would travel around with me. This fit the bill perfectly.

Greater than one weekThis is a fast external SSD. According to CrystalDiskMark 7.0, its faster in read and write speeds than my Samsung internal 860 EVO SSD. The 860 EVO reads and writes a little faster than 400MB/s. The Samsung T5 external SSD reads at about 560MB/s and writes at about 530MB/s. Note that those speeds will vary on both depending on load. I had no load on either drive when I ran the test.

Greater than one weekI have purchased a few portable SSDs from other companies and this is my 3rd Samsung I have and I love all of them. I purchased this to run other operating systems on my MacBook Pro using Parallels, Instead of taking up my internal SSD space I moved them to this drive and it runs just as fast as the internal. Since the unit is so small and already USB-C its easy to carry along in my bag and takes no space so I always have my other operating systems available. For me 1TB is the perfect size for all my files and systems. I also use another Samsung 1TB drive to store VST/AU instruments for Logic and Ableton and it causes no performance issues compared to the internal.
