04-11-2024I didn’t see anybody mention this so I thought I would add to some of the reviews. So I replaced my old hard drive that I had and just simply plugged the cables into this ssd drive. My bios on my MSI M/B recognized it and only thing I had to do was make it so my DVD ROM drive booted first. The night before I made a recovery image from the program within windows under Control Panel. I made an image and of course that goes onto an external hard drive at least that’s how mine is set up. I made a boot disk which it ask you to do after it’s finished making the image. Making the boot disk is easy...nothing to it and again when the image is finished being made just click OK to make it. So the drive came in the mail and again I just pulled the cables off the old drive and plugged them in to the SSD drive. I put the Dvd Boot disk in the drive turned on the computer and after a lengthy boot with the DVD bootdisk ( consult your motherboard manual to see how to select your DVD ROM drive to boot first )you select “troubleshoot” and then select Restore from image. Pretty much everything from there is just OK prompts. Everything work great my computer feels like it’s a fresh install because it so fast. My previous boot up with the old drive after everything was loaded on the desktop including antivirus was just about a minute or longer. Now it’s anywhere from 9 to 10 seconds! Life is good!

> 3 dayReplaced 1T HDD with 500 SSD for our old iMac late 2012 model. BlackMagic speed test shows 500MB now compared to 100MB in old drive. Open mail, safari or chrome instantly without long delay. Cheap and easy upgrade!

> 3 dayI have two of these, and an 850. I left my main games and windows on my 850, put games on one of the 860s, and installed applications on the other 860. 1TB sure does go quickly when you have a handful of games installed these days, but this was easy to install and I have room for one more still. So I guess I Just keep pouring on these 860s, as they are the most cost effective.

> 3 daySo far so good. Going from a mechanical to SSD drive is the single best upgrade decision you can make. Be sure you have enough RAM and CPU to extend the life of your ATX unit. My motherboard is around nine years old, and no issues with the box running Windows 10. Well worth the upgrade with this HDD.

Greater than one weekFit perfectly into my mid 2012 MacBook Pro, and now it boots up in about 5 seconds as opposed to almost a minute when it had its factory HDD. Definitely recommend this item to anyone looking for a great SSD.
