Really easy to install and way faster compared to any hard drive. All you need is a power connection from power supply and a sata connection from the motherboard.

I installed this drive along with Windows 10 in an old Windows Vista HP laptop that was excruciatingly slow and now it runs just as well as any new low end laptop!

Hello. My HP Star Wars laptop was already starting to fail. I consulted on the internet and I found a video on YouTube in German (it is not necessary to know German, because you can see the process clearly), on how to change the factory hard drive for this Samsung SSD. The SSD arrived perfectly. I installed it, I reinstalled Windows 10 with three partitions (C: Windows 10, D: A future Linux Ubuntu or Fedora, E: My archives). And ready! I feel like I have a better laptop than the original one. Everything is fast, now I am the slow one. Excuse me for my bad english, please. I hope that this review is useful. Thank you for reading.

Well If your buying this to transfer your windows copy it doesnt say anywhere how you can do it. Go to the Samsung website and download the data migration tool and it will help you there.

Easy to install in PC. Magician software is fast and slick for transferring C-drive data. No issues so far and PC is lightning fast now on start up (MS spinning dots make one revolution then OS is up and ready).

I moved my Lightroom catalog to the external SSD to make it more portable. Turns out with USB3 it is actually faster than my 5400rpm internal drive so it was a win-win for my use. Will be ordering another one to use to back up the first one.

This SSD is just what my 4 year old Hp Envy needed to speed it up. You will need a SATA cable and a free download of a Migration or Cloning app to Clone this new SSD from the old HDD. I used AOMEI BACKUPPER free download and it worked perfectly. I will say I tried about 5 or 6 different downloads from various Companies and they all failed miserably before I ran across AOMEI BACKUPPER. I would have upgraded even further with M.2 NVMe SSD but my motherboard is not compatible. I’m Very pleased with my end result after installation this Samsung 860 EVO; only regret is I should have done this HDD/SSD swap sooner.

Bought this to use as my boot drive on March 30th 2021, as of September 17th 2021 it is dead. Failed while actively using my computer, and the fresh installation of windows also failed after a day. Loaded up linux on a usb and checked the drive health through GSmart.. Drive is dead. My 850 EVO with 26000 hours running strong, this new drive didnt last 3800.
