My windows ssd was running out of space. So, I bought this one specifically for the migration software, so it would be an easy transition. Well, that didnt work, and instead, spent over a day reading up on how often the migration software doesnt work, and work around. I ended up having to use a completely different software, that still didnt work completely, as I cant unhook my old drive, or the new drive wont boot. Apparently it happens a lot. I give it 2 stars overall, as the drive does work, it just gave me a major headache, and took WAY too much of my time.

Upgrading to an SSD was the right decision and the SAMSUNG 870 EVO 500GB is an easy upgrade

Used drive as my boot drive and died within 2 months. Neither Amazon support nor Samsung support have been helpful in getting it replaced under the warranty. Avoid this drive and avoid buying others from Amazon as their support is not helpful in case of failure.

Hard drive is failing after only owning it for a few months.

My laptop had a slot for a 2.5 SSD on top of the M.2 it already had. This SSD allowed me to create dedicated storage for my media projects, while leaving the m.2 as my boot drive. It runs lightning fast, with my installed programs opening nearly instantly with little load time to speak of. It was effortless to install. For the price, you cannot beat the performance it offers from a proven brand.
