My IT guy from work installed this on my 8 year old personal laptop for me and it works great now. I dont know anything technical about it except it works like a new laptop.

Overall, I like the performance of the Samsung 500GB SSD. My old laptop boots and runs faster. I downloaded and use the Magician and Migration software apps. But these apps failed to migrate the OS from the old HDD to the SSD. Had to switch to Aomei Partition Assistant to get the job done. After a successful OS migration, the laptop booted fine and continues to work as expected.

I have to say this whole thing was way easier than expected. The cloning software was super easy to use (really straightforward - not that complicated at all) and then just had to swap in the new one and it was like nothing changed EXCEPT that the computer boots up like wildfire! Also, if you have games that take a while to load - youll notice a difference. I play Gears 5 quite a bit and it loads in much faster than before. Very happy with this one - and if I need more storage Ill be buying this one again.

Samsung disks dont work so well with ncq (native command queuing) in linux. I had communication errors and had to disable ncq (libata.force=noncq in grub). Search on samsung noncq for more.

Works wicked awesome! Easy to install and clone your old drive using the Samsung migration software. Super fast read and write time. I purchased a 1T drive for my other laptop.

Didnt come eith cable to connect now gotta order one and wait longer to use
