i didn’t realize how large it was until i saw the box. my hamster loves it however it’s not easy to clean because of the wood. there are still stains i cant get rid of. overall it was a good purchase just a little pricey.

As the headline says, I think this is the best little box hide ive ever had so far. It wont fit anything bigger than your typical mouse or rat through their little holes BUT theyre spacious, the lid comes off the top so the animals inside are easily accessible and my mice feel VERY secure in this hide. I breed mice, but I generally spoil them and buy them toys and new hides and treat them like pets, and this was perfect. For the price of $16 for the two chamber small size its pretty damn decent. sure you can get like maybe one or at most, two, really small cheapo plastic see through hides for around the same price. But this box hide is far more desirable than any of those cheap plastic ones any day. It is durable, makes them feel protected and safe, gives you easy accessibility to them just by taking off the top, BUT you can also use it as a stand for a wheel or a grounded water bottle if you use a tank or tub to keep your little pet in like me. With all the bedding in there it can be hard to get a grounded wheel thats not hanging on bars to stay standing up because of the uneven ground, so using it as a little table+hide combo is really useful!

My roborovski hamster loves this hideout! It has two rooms which is like what they would have in the wild. It goes perfect with my natural theme! The 2 room small could definitely fit a syrian or dwarf hamster.

This is a really nice little chambered hide. Unfortunately, my hamster is not interested in this and would rather just build his own burrows. I can only get him to go inside to find treats and sit in a sandbath. I do use this hide as a platform to place his food dish and water bowl. You may also want to waterproof it. US buyers: If youre looking to add a small sandbath inside this, Dollar Tree carries a heart-shaped votive dish that fits well! I know that Niteangel does make one to go inside their hides, but I havent seen it on Amazon.

My large Syrian hamster LOVES this house. She stuffs one side completely with shavings and her food stash and uses the other side for her favorite stick and restroom area. The top is great and she loves climbing on top to play. It is large - would not recommend for a small tank. We have a 40 gallon tank and it is great!

The side of it broke, but my hamster still sleeps in it like nothing ever happened.

I love this a lot it’s very nice to touch. Doesn’t feel like it would splinter but even if you think it would it comes with a small piece of sand paper. I added wooden rods to the sides so it would be taller and it’s incredibly sturdy. My hamster has quickly made it his second favorite place (the wheel is his first of course)

If you are getting this for a/multiple mice... DO NOT GET IT!!!! I just came home from work and found one of my mice DEAD/CRUSHED.. I have 5 mice and I loved this hide originally... She must have tried to push up the top to climb over one of the sections and got stuck with the wall/seperation crushing her stomach.. If you have delicate small pets DO NOT buy this.

Kind of plain and not very sturdy for the price.
