Its a gigabit switch, whats not to love?

As with most dumb switches this one was super easy to install. Just plug in the power and ethernet cables, turn it on and youre done. I have had this one installed for a month now with my business connection. Its connected to my Dell poweredge server running on its own 3 static ip addresses and my router in my home running all my home computer and devices and has performed flawlessly.

I purchased the NETGEAR 8-Port Ethernet Switch to accompany a recently purchased Samsung UN50RU7100FXZA smart TV. This switch is, as advertised, a true plug and play switch, requiring no special software or configuration. In addition to the Smart TV, this switch is also linked to a laser printer, Roku, Spectrum cable box, and a backup hard drive. The ports filled up fast.

Needed more Ethernet connections and this was a great inexpensive solution

Not much else to say. Every so often (weekly-ish) this switch stops working (meaning any devices depending on it for network connectivity are disconnected) and needs to be power-cycled. Totally unacceptable.

I purchased (2) of these 8 port managed switches for my home network to compliment my new ORBI 853 mesh wifi 6 system. Switches arent exciting, but they do need to be simple to setup, simple to manage and most of all be reliable. These NetGear switches accomplish all of that.
