> 3 dayI purchased this in 2017 for my first home Ethernet system. We were signed up for 100m cable internet at the time and it worked well. This switch is gigabyte ready. 2022 and a new company is offering 600m fiber internet with TV for a little less than the cable company that boost to 200m for free to try and retain customers. After the installation, the internet looked good. Then later the same day the tv started buffering. I checked the speed and every test was different. No internet, 10m, 100m, 300m. The next day it stabilized at 97. I plugged my router into the fiber interface and it was showing 630m, I plugged into the router about the same, I plugged into the switch and 97m. I don’t know what the life of a residential use switch is but at some point we reached it and didn’t know till we upgraded our home internet. I went with TP-Link switch this time.

Greater than one weekWorks great as a gig-E switch. Amazing value for the price. Only one complaint - that the LEDs dont show 10/100/1000 status. Not even when the case on top says green=1000, yellow=10/100. LEDs are always green, even at 100 Mbit. Flash when active.

> 3 dayThis is an excellent switch. My previous 5-port switch was full, and some ports didnt support devices I had tried using with it. With two different port groupings, this switch handled all of my requirements immediately upon plugging it in!

> 3 dayDoes not light amber for slower than 1 Gb connections like advertised on the switch itself. Not a real impact in performance, but this is a very basic functionality that super cheap switches have available.

> 3 dayI replaced a 5 port switch with this 8 port switch, just ran out of ports! I recommend Netgear products.
