This switch replaced a working D-link unmanaged model. What I noticed with that old switch is that it was making a very high pitched, low volume humming noise. This Netgear switch, so far, is perfect and its completely quiet. Just what the doctor ordered. Highly recommended.

Works like its supposed to. Really seamless, just plug it in and its all set. The shielded ports are really nice.

The HTML-based configuration facility is superb. The Netgear-supplied ProSafe Utility, on the other hand, leaves much to be desired.

Im not a low voltage expert so I can only express from the feeling after using it. Does work but the internet speed is not as good as if I connect the modem directly (drop by 100mbps for a 500mbps internet). I dont know if this is normal. But I need these switches so I will keep them.

All my house connections are working fast and as dependable as the outside network allows. Weve not had any slow downs or stoppages. Liking this product very much.
